It's one thing watching greats in the ring but watching them train gives you a much better indication of just how fast they are.
Got not give Meldrick Taylor a nod. Watched Chavez Taylor recently, thought I had it on fast forward.
With respect to recent guys, I'd put Calzaghe ahead of a few of those guys. Same goes for Naseem Hamed. I'm not enough of a historian to pick out some older fellas, but honestly nobody jumps out at me as being glaringly missing. With modern training and diets and the like, the elite current fighters SHOULD be stronger and faster, just there aren't nearly as many guys competing so there's a lot fewer quality fighters at the same time. Plus, anyone who predates about 1945 is hard to tell simply because there weren't as many reels per second on film back then, which makes everyone look slower but is purely an optical illusion.
Roy had quick hands, feet, timing, reaction time. Floyd has got the fastest reaction time and timing, but his hands and feet were quick but not as fast as roy jones, SRL, and Pac. Young Pac was freaking fast. Look how his feet and hands are in sync with each other while moving, it looks speed up. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qKPDeMXiJHc&feature=player_detailpage[/ame]
Meldrick is faster than SRL. Camacho is faster than Pernell and PBF, but PBF is faster than Sweet Pea. Prime Mosley is faster than Pacquiao and switch Berto for a lot of fighters
