Tyson Holmes Thomas Witherspoon Weaver Page Tubbs Coetzee Dokes Berbick Michael Spinks Tucker C00ney Holyfield Bonecrusher
Tucker Smith Thomas Witherspoon Berbick Tubbs Orlin Norris Mark Wills David Bey Snipes Douglas Holyfield Bruno Page M Green J Broad D Collier J Tillis J Ribalta G Coetzee M White J Ferguson M Williams C Williams M Spinks M Dokes M Weaver
- You used C. Williams in Holmes's case two times. - I think you overrate these Tillis wins. You used these Tillis wins several times this prove these wins weren't remarkable things.(Seemingly every decent fighter beat him.) - Leon Spinks isn't good win at all.(Big name but he was ****.)
I have it Tier 1 Holmes Tyson Witherspoon ------ After that its gets harder. Tier 2 Thomas Tubbs C00ney Tucker Page Spinks Weaver Holyfield Coetzee Dokes J. Smith Berbick
1. Tyson 2. Holmes 3. Witherspoon 4. Weaver 5. Berbick 6. Thomas 7. Dokes 8. Tubbs 9. Smith 10 Spinks 11. Tucker 12. Holyfield EXPLANATION: Michael Spinks and Evander Holyfield weren't ranked too high on my list due to their limited participation in the division during that time frame. Tony Tucker's only win of note in the 80's was over Douglas and that victory only rose in stock years later due to Buster's eventual upset of Tyson, which I can't give points for hindsight value. Tyson is #1 for me in the 80's. While I rank Larry Holmes higher on an all time list, Tyson Unified the crown, dominated the division and became the youngest champion, while Holmes had less fights, didn't unify, was stripped of a belt and lost three times in the decade. Tim Witherspoon makes my #3 by virtue of winning two alpha titles, giving Holmes fits in only his 16th pro bout and beating many of his peers like Tubbs, Page, Smith, Tillis, Broad, Snipes, Bruno, etc... The rest who fall in the middle are interchangeable depending on one's criteria.
you are right that i used twice c williams in l holmes record. i dont overrate tillis he was a top contender in the 80 and leon wasnt bad i rate him over the likes of le douux,l jones,r snipes,etc...
100 % agree with you except that i dont rank doke too high. he doesnt have good victories and he was limited.. In both of weaver fights weaver was robbed.
pinklon and mike weaver were underdogs in their fight with tillis. I know that tillis was a bit overrated at this point.
Leon some 80's losses: -Holmes Ltko3 -DeLeon Ltko6 -Qawi Ltko6 -Sekorski Ltko6 -Ribalta Ltko1 -Musone Lko7 -Mims(13-15-0) Lsd10 I think you must be a big Leon fan.
Im not a leon fan, but he has some good wins too, like mercado, evangelista or an aging ali . He was past his prime in almost all this loses maybe except holmes
- Ali's biggest problem was his health not his age and obviously Ali was past his prime. Past his prime=loss by a (13-15-0) fighter ? 2-3 decent wins collection isn't a big thing every bum has chance for some good wins.(Puritty-W. klitschko is the best example)
