Regarding my list, I simply believe that, at 160lb, Fitz beats the majority of people below him, and loses to the majority of people above him. That's how I rank (rather than on achievements at the weight). So I have no problem with anyone questioning my lists. Their own might well have more hard evidence than mine. Each to his own
A good post / rebuttal can speak for itself. The fact you feel the need to sign off with that disclaimer shows the lack of confidence you have in your retorts. Never mind asking the board anything, fight your own corner. Fact is , you simply do not automatically become past prime when you reach a certain age , other wise Badou Jack and Kovalev (both 34) would be past it and that clearly not true. There's factors involved. James Degale is well past it right now at the age of 32 because he's been in war after which started with his fight against George Groves. DeGale turned pro after GGG and has a lot less fights , yet Golovkin is in much better condition and is more prime because he's had a much easier career than James DeGale. The only reason im explaining this is because of your ignorance and hero worship for certain fighters. Its a lot easier to say Golovkin was suddenly past prime because he barely beat Jacobs and Canelo than to accept that his talent level dropped as soon as he faced decent contenders. Why would Mayweather need to go up a 6th weight class to fight GGG? His record blows Golovkins out of the water. How many titles in different weight classes does Golovkin have? The opportunity's were there but he never took them.
Maybe / maybe not. Jacobs has a weak chin and he handled his power. Definitely no argument to claim he has an ATG chin. Show me a power puncher letting off combos on his dome? He was fearful to walk-down Canelo who isn't regarded as a puncher , that tells me he wasn't as confidant in his chin strength as you are. Where all all the power punching MWs who detonated on his chin? Don't say LaMule who hit him with next to nothing. How would his chin hold up against big hitters at higher weights? Too many questions and not enough answers .
Golovkin isn't a top 15 all time great middleweight but he's good enough to share the ring with any of them. He comes to fight.
Please explain to me what a top all time 15 middle weight is. I’d like to read it. Then get ready for some verbal jujitsu. Saying an era isn’t very good is cop out.
Well ... - Imagine the whole entire lot of great middleweights - as many as you like - going back as far Marquess of Queensberry rules began. - Then imagine them arranged in order of greatness. So the greatest of them all is at the top, ranked #1, the second greatest at #2, third greatest at #3, and so on .... - Every fighter from #1 through to #15 is "a top all time 15 middle weight" It's that simple.
I’m asking you to define and quantify greatness. Can you do it? Example: longevity, ko percentage, amount of title defenses, amount top top ten opponents beaten, losses taken. You get the picture. Now please say it in your words. Once that happens I’ll argue GGG’s greatness in your terms.
~350 amateur fights We can visibly SEE GGG has slowed down. It's not rocket science. Look at the footage. But Dino doesn't watch fights. He watches Boxrec. Canelo would school Hopkins in a fight. He's way too fast, his combination punching is very sharp, he's hard to land on and he's extremely mobile. He managed to move the entire fight against Golovkin. Hopkins and his hit n hold would be working uphill against Canelo's defence and counterpunching ability.
Dino must be the only dumbo that tries to make an argument that Golovkin doesn't have a great chin. Lemieux, Stevens, Jacobs who are all big hitters landed on him and he didn't even slow down. FFS, Golovkin even lets guys tee off on him with combinations and then smirks at them. Dino's next statement: Tyson was featherfisted. Dino's clinching argument: Dustin Nichols was svelte. Canelo has a KO rate of 65%. That's pretty good. He also hit GGG with his best shot, flush, winding up from somewhere near the judges box, and Golovkin just kept moving forward. Barely blinked. Alvarez looked like he wanted to cry after that. Don't come here with BS. We're talking about MW
Yes, but Rocky was the young guy fighting older guys, retiring at age 32. GGG is the older guys fighting younger guys, still undefeated at age 36. Unlike Rocky he’s never been down or cut. It looks like no one is going define in details how they rate a guy. I think outside of saying the era sucks, which lame GGG would define their own terms.
The two best fighters GGG fought...Jacobs and Canelo...Jacobs hit ggg at will and nearly beat him...and ggg failed to dominate Canelo and let him stay in the fight. Canelo and Jacobs are not great fighters at 160 Ggg never stepped up and fought ward. Ward went up in weight and twice best kovalev once stopping him. Ward proved himself greater than ggg and his resume blows ggg Out of the water. That was the fight to be made and ggg could have solidified his legacy. Yet some still rate ggg over ward for whatever reason
