1. Wladimir Klitschko (IBF, IBO, WBO) 2. Samuel Peter (WBC) 3. Ruslan Chagaev (WBA) 4. Nikolai Valuev 5. Tony Thompson 6. Alexander Povetkin 7. Sultan Ibragimov 8. Alexander Dimitrenko 9. Oleg Maskaev 10. Shannon Briggs 11. Vladimir Virchis 12. Juan Carlos Gomez 13. Andrew Golota 14. Chris Arreola 15. John Ruiz 16. Hasim Rahman According to fightnews................... Not that bad of a list. :deal
I think Haye will be near the top of that list after his next fight. If Vitali makes it through camp we will have to see how he performs against Peter the Pudding! One thing - is Emeritus champion revocable i.e. if he loses does he still retain the status? or if he wins and then loses, say a rematch, can he call another rematch?
Wlad Klitschko Sam Peter Ruslan Chagaev Alexander Povetkin Nickoli Valuev Sultan Ibrigamov Juan Carlos Gomez Tomy Thompson Johnny Ruiz Hasim Rachman Alexander Dimentrenko Wladimir Virchis' Eddie Chambers Andrew Golota Chris Arreola Shannon Briggs Post Script: Oleg Maskaev hs done nothing but loose a fight in what, the last two years? How much does a win against Okhello count for, anyway? Lets not forget Chambers who has beaten Guinn, Rossi and, Brock. And his loss against Povetkin, who I am very high on, was surprisingly well contested.
hell yes, number three soon before he eventually fights wlad, then he shall take his rightful place at.................... number............1
If you would be so kind as to look at my ratings, I correct your problems, accept that I still have Dimenrenko one rating above Virchis. Which, by the way, I am very flexible one. I can see it either way.
but where is the cuban guy named odlanier solis.... olympic winner... did stop david haye whan they fought as amatuers... i think he is undefeated in 10 pro fights..... where is he on your guys list
he is fighting old botha this month in spain.... watch for this guy... stopped an undefeated fighter in 2 round in his last fight.... he is brutal..... ask haye http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yKkXL3M3JXs
Very impressive but not quite there. He started out beating guys like Sidon and Collander that got him a very quick off the bat rating, but has since been unimpressive against guys like Julius Long. Still does not have a real eye opening win. Has a couple of wins, and I am thinking of Mazinkin here, that look like non-efforts by his opponents. I am not going so far as to say fix, but ... well, we know what his power is by his amatuer days, so the minute-and-change knockout did not prove anything in terms of his power, or other skills that might help him make it to the top. The upcoming fith against Botha will help, but no matter who he beats, will have to stop coming in 40 pounds overweight before he is going to convince many of us.
Yep! The Mazikin fight was .................weird. Well, fishy is probably the better word to describe the outcome of that fight. Solis is a very promising new kid on the block, but a quite fat one ,too. He doesnt seem to have the right attitude towards his chosen profesion. He has all the tools to be a great heavyweight, but his constant overweight makes me think.
I think Solis would beat Peter and Chagaev at the moment but he needs to lose weight before he fight Klitschko Valuev and Povetkin. I think Haye can beat Peter and Chagaev too.
Your list looks much better than fightnews' one! Anyway! Always a bloody tough job to rate the top fighters of a weight division. There are as many opinions as there are fight fans out there.
