Was going to suggest just a top 10 but seemed a bit limiting given some of the fighters who passed through that era.

Agree entirely. Where is Watanabe. Where is, like him or not, Camacho. Fastest fighter I EVER saw. At jrlight I would take him over Mayweather any day. Would bet my house.

Paz only belongs on a list of the top 20 fighters in the 80's from Rhode Island.

Gomez, Pintor, Chandler, Rosario, Fenech and Braxton among many others might push for inclusion above Paz and Mancini maybe.

I started drawing up my own list and have about 35 names so far. Vinny Pazienza isn't going to make the cut (he's not one of the names) and I don't think Ray Mancini, much as I like him, will either. He's on the initial list though.

The difficulty is not being able to choose guys who were a significant presence during the 80s in terms of their popularity and the entertainment they brought (Mancini being a good example) against boxers whose cultural impact on the sport was relatively low but their résumés are objectively better.

Not disagreeing, the list is purely subjective.

Good effort. Although Paz only belongs on a list that begins with most annoying or something of the sort.
Cant stand the man regardless I cant justify him on the list.
