Sorry bro, I love the guy but I just don't understand how he can be rated so high? he is defo a defensive ATG, but his rank is way too much for me. [There is already a Pep in the top 20]
Oldies: I agree with Foreman I'd also throw in Marciano, who is favoured far too heavily h2h and seems to find his way up very high in ATG lists. I mean he's high, but not that high Contraversial, but I'll throw in Greb. I mean you can totally legitimise his high rankings, but people talk like they just saw him fight in their back garden when they refer to his skillset. The footage is pretty hard to come by, and I doubt if many have seen him which slightly detracts from it Current: Pavlik by a country mile. I've never heard of such a slow one dimensional fighter with defensive problems getting this highly rated. Plus, he has wins over precisely one good fighter Donaire. There are some odd picks flying around regarding this man. Pacquiao is overrated in the sense many *******s think he's the greatest Asian fighter of all-time, and even figures very highly as an ATG
Saying Greb is overated is a bit like saying God is overated. LOOK at his resume - his HW resume is genuinely better than a lot of HW resumes, I'm serious, he is the most underated heavyweight of all time. And the man was a middlweight/super-middleweight.
To me Overrated mean's, People tend to overdue the type of fight/or fighter the actual athelete really was or gave during his career. When active fighter's are given the nod over other's simply on the notion that people assume they will lose Vs. Him based on "Skillset". When a "Skillset" is a fighter's only attribute as oppossed to actual combat tested skills. **** like that... Taking away all notion's of Boxing's greatest attribute "Styles"
Resume of course not, thats what I mean you can legitimise ranking him highly. It just disturbs me somewhat to hear people talking about his attributes like they are his sparring partner, when most of it is second hand accounts.
OK, gotcha. To be fair, there is film of some of his opponents (Tunney, for example), so we know he beat top quality men, and must have had the skillset to do it.
Hatesrats i dont think i can sleep tonight. pernell is over rated? plz watch this: http://youtube.com/watch?v=yjTHLPmfBCQ http://youtube.com/watch?v=_G5v_PNsl4Q&feature=related
Overrated is probably the wrong word, but I don't know the word in English, only Icelandic which shows how much I use English these days He is rated about right rankings wise, although more by luck than judgement in a lot of cases. There is a certain legend of Harry Greb.
I know his fight's bro... And yes he did beat Julio Cesar Chavez, Nelson & Jorge Paez who are among my fav's...ect Although I'd also agrue the prime factor in those win's, but.... [I can assure you that has Zero to do with it.] I think along with being a great is the actual perfomance or show. His fight's had no Drama, He was rather bland in the ring. [Plus I hate Duva...lol] An ATG, YES top 10. NO. [IMO]
