Quite a bit of logic bending to pretend that Wlad wasn’t fighting bigger guys than Lewis overall.

Wlad would wash peak versions of Frazier and Holyfield. They’d each give Lewis a stiff challenge.

Louis and Holmes would also have more success against Lewis than Wlad.

Physically dominating is good thing, a preferred thing, one to train for...

And among those boy type opponents were...

    Bryan Jennings 6-3, 227, 84" reach
    Kubrat Pulev 6-4, 247, 80" reach
    Povetkin 6-2, 226, 75" reach
    Pianeta 6-5, 240, 80" reach
    Wach 6-7, 250, 82" reach
    Thompson 6-5, 245, 81" reach
    Peter 6-2, 241, 77" reach
    Brewster 6-2, 228, 77" reach
    Austin 6-6, 247, 80" reach
    Brock 6-2, 225, 77" reach

Overall is not the issue. His quality fights. The ones he will be remembered for. You understand this. You are just pretending.

Agreed. Some of the heights obviously inflated but doesn't take away from your point.

Are you really going to put Wach, Pianeta, Jennings and Pulev on this list? Puelv belongs for his skill, maybe, but again, these are not his best defenses. Wlad does not have single Vitklit, Ruddock, Bruno, or Mason as a scalp--a big, imposing puncher who can physically match him.

He couldn't wash temu Holy - Bryant Jennings , and got blasted to oblivion by Frazier archetype Brewster.

Povetkin forced him into a public act of humiliation and self-debasement. If that was the only way he could beat Povetkin then that rules him out against guys who were better than Povetkin.

Wlad was both significantly past his prime and still one of the best fighters on the planet when he beat Jennings.

    Excuse making.

Old man Luis Ortiz came along one fight later and walked right through Jennings. Wlad looked poor because Jennings didn't stand there like all the others.

    lol @ Wlad washing Holyfield

Foreman at least KO'd an actual SHW in Jack O'Halloran, overpowered actual 220+ lbs HWs in Lyle and LeDoux, and faced modern-ish HWs in the 90s well in his 40s. All Frazier has to show against an actual HW with power is Foreman tearing him to pieces twice.

If Ali had actual power he'd kill Frazier somewhere along their trilogy with the sheer amount of punches he landed on his face. And probably be able to at least rock Norton. He hit hard occasionally, but thats it, he didn't even try to throw a hard punch 90% of the time.

I don't but it doesnt matter, the point is Frazier being above him is bull****.

If you’re bringing up LeDoux and Jack O Lantern with a straight face, and pretending that Lyle was a big guy, it tells me everything I need to know.

Ali stopped Liston, Foreman (made him quit) Bonavena and others. He had power.

Yeah, which is Foreman at least has something to show, Frazier doesn't. I know you are probably foaming from your mouth and shaking at the floor from the thought of Foreman being better than someone at something, but its the truth buddy. Beating mid strong HWs / SHWs >>>> beating 0 strong HWs / SHWs. And its pretty funny how you guys think Lyle and Foreman are small when nobody says the same about 6'2 Chisora who would probably be the same weight with those two if he wasn't obese.

He didn't "KO" any of those guys, Liston literally got up and kept fighting until the ref abruptly stopped the match and declared Ali the winner. Foreman missed the count by like half a second, and Bonavena got TKO'd via going down 3 times. Ali had average power at best, and he rarely even threw hard enough to get there.

You suggested that he wasn't facing big, strong dudes, That wasn't the case at all.

Big punchers? Brewster, Peter, Povetkin, Haye, Thompson.... I'm not claiming Wlad's resume to be better than Lewis', who has the most dangerous resume in the division's history. That might, in no small part, been due to the increased testing scrutiny of Wlad's era but he fought who was there. When you reign for a decade, and barely lose a round, and fight exclusively elite dudes, you are doing something special.

They really weren't and Lewis had more of a size advantage over his then Wlad.
