Not sure what you are going for here, but boxing is not a statistical sport, anyway, and not comparable to ball sports.

It certainly is a statistical sport - maybe not as much as some of the others, but we still talk about being: 49-0, 25 title defenses, 8 division champion, 4x HW champ, how many power punches thrown/landed, height, reach, weight, etc.

But that's not my point. Almost any sport I follow (I follow the big 4) they all say the same thing: "It's difficult to get to the top, but it's harder to stay there." Point being is that a boxer who has been at the very top for 10+ years is closer to number 1 than number 10. If you look at all of the HW champs few have been champ for 5+ years.

 

Lol. Boxing is about who beat. Ali is the greatest because of Forman, Frazier and Liston.

It is easy to stay at the top when you are six inches taller than your best opponents, or they were natural LHWs or cruisers.
