If you want..feel free to work out your own system. Personally, I would be left scratching my head with someone like Ezzard Charles. At what point does his losses count against him? Should his gate keeper days at the end of his career drag down one of the best resumes in HW history? Some people claim he was past his best against Marciano, or even as early as the Walcott fights...I certainly don't believe this but some would argue that.
Who decides when a fighter is in his prime? Might we add the negatives too ? -5 for KO loss -4 for Dq loss or avoiding a top contender for three or more yeas -3 for UD points loss -2 for a gift decision or split decision loss -1 for a No contest due to drug failure or draw vs a lesser fighter
How about being kod 3 times in your prime? Quitting against a powder puff puncher when well in front, again in your prime? Negatives I assume?
Are you referring to Wlad. Okay, he has 3 KO losses in 66 fights. The truth is many HOF heavies were KO'd more often, and in some cases by lesser punchers than Brewster or Sanders. How about -7 for being Ko'd by a light heavy, -5 for being floored by a supper middle, and -10 for saying he participated in a pre-arrangement? And as we know yer boy quit in fights too.
How about being kod by a light heavy when you are a light heavy yourself? Which heavyweight champions were kod in their prime by journeymen? My boy? My boy is Dempsey, but to put things into perspective . Your giant white champ quit when he was 28years old against a man 6inches shorter and 34lbs lighter ,[ a light puncher by any standards,] in a fight he was clearly winning. The champion you refer to was 48 and 50 years old when he retired between rounds, the first time after being floored in the previous round the second with a broken hand. Spot the difference? Supper middle again ?atsch
Can you pick an argument you can win? 1 ) You don't have the weights. Choynski was 160 pounds vs Jim Hall in 1899. The light heavy limit is 175. 2 ) According to two books, Johnson quit vs Klondike which brings his count to two. So Vitlai quit once with an injury. The hall of fame is full of guys who als0 quit, sometimes with lesser injury 3 ) How about this weight issue: Do you really want to talk about fouls, ducking the best while champion, and such. Quit while you are behind.
I have the definitive biography of Johnson with countless primary same day ringside sources to refer to, it plainly states Johnson did not quit against Klondike. It also states Choynski and Johnson were likely the same approximate weight. Why don't you buy it and start educating yourself? Vitlai ? Is he another supper fighter? Know any breakfast fighters?:hey
