    I just came across this on youtube and thought I would post it for people who haven't seen it. It's pretty accurate. There's also a list linked from there of the top 50 truths about boxing at http://www.mightyfighter.com/

    Any fighter will lose if he fights on long enough.
    Robberies happen.
    Hometown fighter always gets the benefit of the doubt.
    Controversy sells.
    Any fighter can be knocked out.
    Timing always beats speed.
    If you don’t train as hard as your opponent, you’re in for a tough night.
    Looking past your next opponent is a massive mistake.
    Exciting fights = more bums on seats.
    Styles make fights.
    Some fighters will be avoided.
    Technical boxers don’t get much recognition from the public.
    Punching power means nothing if you can’t hit the target.
    You can go from poverty to super-stardom with enough skill and will.
    There are too many world titles.
    A fighter will be chastised by the media and public if they quit during a fight.
    The heavyweight division needs reviving.
    To be the best you have to beat the best.
    No opponent should ever be underestimated.
    A great old fighter will beat a good young fighter.
    Greediness is damaging the sport.

    Pay per View has greatly damaged the sport.
    You have a better chance to become "great" if you're from one of the "big" countries.
    Most boxers don't want to face the best, they just want to have as much money and fame as possible without.
    Referees and judges in boxing are clearly sub-par.
    Body punching is underused by many fighters.
    Records don't mean much if the competition has been sub-par or just extremely good.
    The vast majority of ATG's had a very long reach for their size/weightclass.
