    He hasn't beaten Pacquiao yet. This isn't imaginary wins. I'm sure he dreams about beating Mayweather too, but that didn't happen.

    It's clear Hatton is undeserving, as is Calzaghe really. At least Calzaghe holds a win over a top 50 ATG past prime, but neither compare to wins over SRR, Kid Chocolate close to prime, or achievements such as winning the heavyweight title having been middleweight champion.

    Even Laguna, a top operator, and considering all the outside factors that were not in Buchanan's favour, ranks well ahead of Tszyu when it was the exact opposite.

    Fighters of this era don't seem to have wins to compare to Honeyghan/Curry and prior to that. Arguably Lewis over Holyfield, thats it.

    The Turpin win over Ray Robinson is still scrutinized to this day though......

    By the way if Hatton beats Pacquiao is it an upset??

    Probably not. For me it would be, I imagine the odds would be fairly even, just favouring Pacquiao.

    I could scrutinize Hatton's win over Tszyu until the end of the world. I'd rather have the win over Ray Robinson scrutinzed, somehow.

    Oh yeah, of course....I rate Turpin's win as the best by a UK fighter....but I'm biased cos Randy lived close to where I do.....

    It was scrutinized cos SRR was on somewhat of a world tour and was fighting in Europe without huge commitment to training and taking the fighters lightly

    The rematch proved who was better when Ray Robinson was prepared

    Great thread Ishy!!

    Obviously Turpin over SRR ranks highly (and rightly so!). Honeyghan v Curry is up there because of how much of an underdog Honeyghan was. Similar for Stracey v Napoles. I dont know enough about Jack Berg or Ted Lewis to say how good their wins are which have already been mentioned. Buchanan v Laguna deserves to be up there. John Conteh v Jorge Ahumada deserves a mention. As does;

    Paul Hodkinson v Villasana II
    Alan Minter v Vito Antuofermo

    Of recent history, Lewis v Holyfield would be up there if the first fight was scored correctly. By the time the second one came round though, I think most were thinking Lewis would win anyway so it took a little gloss off it. Calzaghe v Kessler and Hatton v Tzsyu are up there.

    In picking three I'll go for;

    Turpin v SRR
    Buchanen v Laguna
    Fitz v Corbett

    He was beaten up quite badly in the 10th round and there were disputes about the ref stopping the fight despite only counting up to 7 or 8......that said Ray Robinson rated Turpin as one of the best boxers he had fought, which is high praise

    I wouldnt call it an upset at all im actually picking Hatton to win as much as I'd like to see him eat the ringpost again.

    Pac's win over a corpse at 147 and a punching bag at 135 tell me nothing to how he's going to do at 147.

    Does Paul Williams win over Andy Kolle at 160 tell us that he's going to beat Abraham and Pavlik ?

    Hell no
