Just like to get some comments on my top 30 P4P. Anyone I missed? Anyone who should be higher/lower? Note that my P4P is primarily based on resume / achievements, and not on the "what ifs". I am pretty much settled on my top 5, but I see that the order of boxers ranked 6-10, 11-15, 16-20, etc. can be switched. For example, I think there is good argument to have 11-15 ordered as follows: Bradley, Lopez, Froch, Pascal, Cotto. The list is updated as of today. 1. Manny Pacquiao 2. Floyd Mayweather Jr. 3. Sergio Martinez 4. Juan Manuel Marquez 5. Wladimir Klitschko 6. Fernando Montiel 7. Nonito Donaire 8. Andre Ward 9. Pongsaklek Wonjongkam 10. Vitali Klitschko 11. Carl Froch 12. Jean Pascal 13. Miguel Cotto 14. Timothy Bradley 15. Juan Manuel Lopez 16. Lucian Bute 17. Giovani Segura 18. Bernard Hopkins 19. David Haye 20. Chris John 21. Devon Alexander 22. Tomasz Adamek 23. Paul Williams 24. Chad Dawson 25. Shane Mosley 26. Hozumi Hasegawa 27. Ivan Calderon 28. Koki Kameda 29. Roman Gonzalez 30. Robert Guerrero Alexander and Adamerk are the two I feel could be lower or in the top 20, but don't see who they should replace. Williams, Dawson, and Mosely, who used to be ranked high, all need a decent win to get back into top 20 and a good win over a P4P ranked boxer to get close to top 10. Two good wins over P4P ranked boxers may get them back into top 10.
I may not agree with the whole lot but I am fairly flabbergasted to find that it's a sane list. ...I was prepared to come in and throw a snarky comment at a bunch of ****, so I'm not really prepared for this right now. I don't know what to say. :?
That's a good list. The only guys I'd have in a markedly different position is Hasegawa, who I rate very highly and Gamboa, who would make my top 30 despite not having a very strong resume. Aside from a few minor quibbles over placement, that's a good effort.
Nice list. Can you explain me a bit why Donaire is so high and Froch so low given their recent results
Too ****ing exhausting to do anything more than a Top Ten. 01. Manny Pacquiao 02. Sergio Martinez 03. Floyd Mayweather 04. Wladimir Klitschko 05. Juan Manual Marquez 06. Fernando Montiel 07. Nonito Donaire 08. Lucian Bute 09. Pongsaklek Wongjakam 10. Chris John Anyone who has Timothy Bradley or Devon Alexander in the Top Ten should be shot.
Very nice list. Maybe Gonzalez, Hasegawa and Hopkins (I wonder how he fell out of the top10 anyway) higher plus Nishioka, Kessler in, but it's a subjective list after all.
Ward beat Kessler who beat Froch, this is a ranking not who is the better fighter Gd list., I think I would have Adamek higher then Chris John
Thanks. I had Hasegawa ranked in the top 20 before the Montiel loss. I view Hasegawa in the same boat as Williams and Mosely, who lost badly to P4P boxers (Williams to Martinez, Mosely to Floyd, and Hasegawa to Montiel). The only difference is that Martinez and Floyd are better P4P fighers than Montiel, thus, I have both Williams and Mosely ranked higher than Hasegawa.
