My top 5 is the same, but a different order. I also have Fitzsimmons, Burley and Walker in my top 10.

I also have Ketchel on my top 15.

Perhaps I over rate McCoy and Ryan as both of those are in my top 10 and outside this top 15.

That being said I don't have Steel, Jones Jr or Gibbons in my top 15.

Rummy be like, “This is a very good list but y’all DKSAB if Hagler isn’t No. 1,” haha.

I feel like a teacher just sat me in the back of the class. (I had Monzon 1 and MMH 2 btw IIRC.)

Yeah, while I'm showing the Top 30 point tallies, the list (in my opinion) loses value once you get past the Top 15, which makes sense because the submissions were based on Top 15. So the right side is less about a ranking, and more about showing those who were "in the running" for that final Top 15 spot, if you get my meaning.

In the end though, I'm fine with Hagler at #4.

I do actually have three guys who came before him. Greb, Robinson and Monzon. At 16, I must be the youngest boomer ever.

The fact you decided not to participate and influence the outcome speaks to your integrity, Mr Rummy. We know the fix isn’t in unlike, say, a LaMotta fight.

Don't be sad, McGrain. In the spirit of what @BitPlayerVesti said regarding Tommy Ryan, think of it as an opportunity to help you more adequately identify those boxers where their perceived reputation is being seriously downplayed.

While I haven't checked yet for certain (I plan to at the end), I'm betting that certain ongoing debates here the past 10 years was likely to have shifted some opinions on such fighters from 10 years back. Although, perhaps looking back will in fact prove the exact opposite.

Nice! That should drop the average age here to about 60.

(JOKING! I had no idea how old you are, and I have no clue whatsoever regarding the average age of those who participated. But the way this Survey is being perceived by some in the comments, you'd think the participants included nothing but surviving cast members from the movie COCOON).

I appreciate the kind words, but don't be giving me too much credit. The other benefit here is that it provides me with some degree of plausible deniability.

But in all seriousness, I think my faith in the Classic provided rather excellent results on the whole so far. I never expected the results would be something "conclusive". My hope was/is that this would be an educational exercise for those (myself included) who want to learn more about past greats. Happy to say it has certainly been so for me. Just reading feedback on the outcomes - there are at least a couple of guys in every division that I would like to learn more about based on what I'm reading. And I'm sure that I'm overrating some while underrating others (I think that's probably always true of almost anyone with something this subjective).

The more I read it, the more I like this list, in terms of what it represents atleast.

An overwhelming top 4, which is undoubtedly true.

An excellent choice for number 5, which is subjective.

And then a huge slap in the face by the stark reality that there's a whole host of names you could have from this point on.

The more I read it the more I think there's no "right answer" for 6 and below. It could be any number of people. Take 4 guys for example who are sprinkled across that top 30: Walker, Fitzsimmons, Burley, Gibbons. These guys are so close together in my mind that separating them is an almost impossible task.

I did love the impassioned spiel @Rumsfeld about Marvellous Marvin.

True story: I got up to go get a drink at the concession stand at the Sullivan-Kilrain fight after the 53rd round and when I came back, Rummy had stolen my seat.
