I think you're the only person I know who doesn't consider Bob Foster a top 15 LHW.

Langford and Fitz, I get the ambiguity, but Foster?!?

Pretty funny that 4 of the 10 were never Light Heavyweight champion.

That so many great Light Heavyweights never won the title I think adds to the difficulty ranking the division

Well, that's coz I'm the smartest person in here. :deal:

I tend to group fighters up in tiers. It makes things easier, and my first tier is basically just Ezzard Charles on his own. Then Moore, Tunney, Greb and Loughran make up tier two, and I can see them in any order between two and five. After that it's then between John Henry Lewis and Michael Spinks for six and seven before the fourth tier, which is where you could slot Foster in without too much adversity from myself. Tier 4 is comprised of Bivins, Rosenbloom, Johnson and Delaney. Although if you slotted Conn, Foster, Maxim or Jones in there I wouldn't be annoyed.

My low ranking of Foster basically comes from the fact that I don't really value long title runs/consistency if you're not fighting top opposition. Foster's top 5 wins are very average.

Some do use tiers, I get the rationale behind it.

Fosters opposition is amazing. He cleaned out his division and consistently fought top 3 opposition fight in and fight out.

Plus he fought two ATG HW champions to boot.

I've always had a secret desire to rank Young Stribling on my top 15, but I can never justify it.

Amazing opposition? Maybe for his time. But his time wasn't that good. Hence why he's not top 15.

I've always wanted Paul Berlenbach and Marvin Johnson top 5.

When you have a dominant champion for such a long time, no one gets a chance to look that good.

His LHW opposition is just as good as Durán's LW opposition.

Well, unfortunately for Fitz we have the Corbett footage - which is all we need to know, that he wasn't all that!

    (Just kidding, mate)

Not sure what to think of this list. Don't necessarily disagree at all with the top three in their given order and agree that Foster needs to be down the list a ways, but who in the world wouldn't have Moore or Charles in their top five LHW's, let alone not having them in their top 15? That's just nuts. Only 23 votes for them.

The top 2 are rock solid - the other names and positioning are hugely debatable.
