    Oh...alright.

...But let's not forget that pound for pound, Dempsey (Bert's dead boyfriend) is greater than both of them! ...Okay, I'll stop.

No, Leonard is a better all around boxer than Duran. He has more opitions on how to fight. Therefore he would beat more oppoents than Duran.

Ray Leonard is also a better all round boxer than Sugar Ray Robinson in that sense, but he's an inferior fighter.

When they were both at their best, Duran beat Leonard at Leonard's best weight (not Duran's best weight).

Don't you also favour Mayweather over Duran?

Duran beat Leonard due to Leonard's poor choice to fight Duran's fight. It is not as if it was a one sided performance by Duran. Look at the rematch. Leonard domanated Duran made him quit.

Yes I pick Mayweather over Duran for many of the same reasons that I pick Leonard over Duran.

Ripcity, i'm not going to go into it now because it's late, but i've took part in many lengthy debates on your first point. I disagree anyway. Like i always say, winners win on merit, not because of something the loser did or didn't do. That applies to Duran-Leonard 1 AND 2.

The result of a boxing match and any compotition is dependent on the actions and inactions of both particpants.
Boxing is a sport. At its core is fighting, but it is more than that there rules and startagy needs to take into account.
Whoever brings the most tools to the match is going to have the best chance to win. Who ever can adapt the best has the best chance to win.
Who ever can make the bout go his way has the best chance to win.
When comparing Ray Leonard Mayweather as well. (since he has been brought up.) Are both better than Duran in all three catagories.

Leonard fought like that in every single fight of his pro career up to then. Lateral movement was a tactic Leonard basically invented for the second fight.

It was a clear win over a great fighter in his prime.

So the first fight holds no significance then, despite the fact that that was when they were both at their best?

Because Mayweather is comparable to Leonard?

How about a prime and in shape Ruben Olivares. HTH i think he probably beats any bantam in history.

I think a prime Holyfield at Cruiser would be very tough to beat in a HTH pfp matchup.

No need for the patronising post there mate, i can assure you i'm aware of everything you've just said. And on paper you would be correct, but in reality it doesn't always play out like such.

Also, my response to you was specific, i was talking solely about one fight. I'm going to dig out my old posts for you because it's going to take too long to go through it all over again.
