I'm mostly just being an ass, I just don't agree with some of the picks, lol. Sorry! :buitre:

Guys like Holyfield and Ali got hurt ALL THE TIME. Holyfield was knocked down multiple times. Ali was out on his feet multiple times, his own admission.

When talking about CHINS, we are talking about guys who can absorb a lot of punishment without getting hurt. Not guys who can recover and fight back.

In that case, the top 5 chins were Ray Mercer, Tex Cobb, Oliver McCall, George Chuvalo and Marion Wilson.

Agree 100 percent with this, which is why guys like Ali and Holyfield - who did have excellent chins, just not the best ever - don't make my top five.

    In no particular order:

    Oliver McCall
    Vitali Klitschko
    Ross Puritty
    Ray Mercer
    Tex Cobb

are probably the hardest chins to lace them up.

P4P out of that lot I'd probably rate Mercer the king, who was a lot smaller than the other guys. Only time I saw him down from a blow to the head was when he was pretty old, facing "young" Wlad who was on a mission and bombing him with some of the hardest punches I've seen a HW ship. Even then he got back up for more.

Overall best out of that lot I'd say Vitali Klitschko, though. The Lewis uppercut that he ate was arguably the hardest single punch I've seen, and I was kind of surprised that he didn't crumple on the spot. Sanders caught him coming in with his special patented counter left straight and Vits survived that too. Never been down. But what makes the older Klitschko's chin special is that he never fought chin-first; his defence was excellent and it was hard to land shots on him in the first place.

Darn. Foreman should be there too, mind you. Can we do a top 6? ;)
