dawson definitley up there. oscar had a good variety of shots. floyd when he throws them. rjj. hmmmm probs one of the mexicans to fill the final slots.

my problem tho is i dont follow below lightweight unless a domestic name is there, or the division is considered star (i.e. john, gamboa, caballero, marquez)

    Marco Antonio Barrera
    Manny Pacquiao
    Juan Manuel Marquez
    Floyd Mayweather Jr.
    Jones Jr.

I honestly think a lot of the newer guys are more combination talented overall though, I've seen good stuff from guys like Lemieux, Gamboa, Russell Jr, Benavidez, Gomez, Dirrell, Ortiz, Khan...

Yup much more variety in his combos than Oscar with more speed and power and he didnt neglected the body like Oscar did when he threw a combo.

touche, i think oscar was a better combo puncher but not much in it. oscar was a great finisher, some of his finishing combo's were pretty special

For the people that give Floyd as an example he is more of a precise counter puncher that pot shot his victims. Barrera, Oscar, Pac, JMM are good examples. For JMM is probably the best

At his 130lb peak he was throwing very concise, accurate, and situation specific combinations. Part of being a good combination puncher isn't just how often you use them, it's when and HOW you use them.

it depends how you define combo punching really, floyd threw great combos when he put them together, successive flush shots landing. depends what you look for.

    1. Roy Jones (dramatism)
    2. Calzaghe (Swarm)
    3. Pac Man (sneakiest punch sequences.. variations in speed and rhythm)
    4. JMM/ Barrera (pragmatic)
    5. Floyd Mayweather (below 140 beautiful to watch the fluidness)

    notable Paul Williams.. Sheer volume

Really Mayweather???? Jones???? They are decisively not combination punches. For combinations I dont think you get much better than Cotto over the past 5/6 years. In the early part of the decade it would have to be Morales.
