If you're posting in the classic, you should know styles make fights. Holmes sat at the ropes trying to lure Holyfield and make him a dope. Holmes tried to do to Holyfield what Ali had done to Foreman in Zaire.......but Holyfield already knew what Holmes gameplan was going to be in advance. Holmes just months earlier made Ray Mercer his dope, but Holyfield made sure Holmes woud'nt suceed at that with him. ......Holyfield boxed in and out, and when Holmes would not come off the ropes to trade, Holyfield lowered his head to Holmes chest and attacked his body and came back out again. Holmes did not give a good account of himself vs Holyfield. Holmes fought a survival fight. Though Holyfield won comfortably vs Foreman. Foreman did not fight to survive. Foreman kept coming with mass and power and forced Holyfield to exhert energy and have to dig deep to slow Foreman's pressure. Styles make fight.....and I'll also note that Holmes did not fight a survival fight vs Tyson. Holmes was actually on his toes trying to jab Tyson. Had Holmes fought to survive vs Tyson, he may very well have accomplished that and survived. The thing that impressed me about Foreman's performance vs Holyfield was his jab. Foremans jab was'nt just any jab. That jab landing was better than most Heavyweights power shot. That sledghammer of a jab was heavy and it was a problem to Holyfield. I have'nt an ounce of doubt in my mind Tyson would have mentally gone to pieces trying to deal with that jab. Once past the first couple of rounds, Tyson's history is that he's easy to hit. Foreman would have had target practice past these first few rounds vs Tyson. ......it would have been Foreman-Frazier all over again.
