Willie Pep had his last ever fight in 1966, who in your opinion are the top five defensive fighters to emerge since he hung them up? And are any of those five better defensively than Pep was at his best?
Nicolino Locche Pernell Whitaker Jimmy Young Miguel Canto Willie Pastrano 5 of my favorites anyway, conspicuously absent is that little **** stain This content is protected
Something like that..... Starling Toney Canto Hopkins Wright EDIT - Can´t believe I forgot Whitaker and Locche ! Both better than all the others I listed......
I don´t think I would make a strong case......but perhaps Locche and Whitaker were just as great as Pep...... But again, I wouldn´t make a strong case for that....

Not necessarily better, since their styles were all so unique, they all represent different prisms of that thing called Defensive Artistry.
The first one that came into my head instantly was Pernell Whitaker and I also think you'd be hard pressed to find a better defensive boxer than Floyd Mayweather at work at the minute (and have got the flu) so can't quite think at the minute but will maybe drop some more names in a bit
Besides the obvious brilliant defense geniuses of Whitaker and Locche Sumbu Kalambay James Toney Floyd Mayweather Jr. Marlon Starling Hilario Zapata
Locche Whitaker Mayweather Zapata Benitez Also worth mentions: Lora Starling Wright Canto Famechon Hopkins Young Imo not worth mentions: Graham Toney Kalambay Byrd Jones Jr.
