Whitaker's turns against Haugen and Ramirez II haven't been mentioned yet, and those are standouts by any measure. He's got others too, of course.

cleming brought up Mijares-Navarro (rightly so), but by my liking, his showing against Munoz is just as good, and against Arce, even better.

Chavez-Rosario is pressure-fighting perfection. Rigondeaux-Donaire was a special performance as well.

There are a lot of great fights mentioned in this posting! Let me add Buchanan over Laguna in their second go, some of the slickest boxing moves I've ever seen.

Before the plane crash in 1947 that he was injured in, few fighters could hang with Willie Pep. Was 62-0 before losing by decision in 1943 to the former lightweight champion Sammy Angott. Didn't lose again until 1948 when he lost his title to Sandy Saddler at that point Pep was 134-2-1. Beat Saddler in a rematch and continued as the champ until 1950 when he lost to Saddler again. At that point Pep was an incredible 152-3-1, with two of the losses to the great Saddler. Willie Pep, had to many great performances to count between the years 1942-1950. Greatest Featherweight champion in history imo.

I'll suggest the fight that I always think of when this thread question is asked....Harold Johnson vs Willie Pastrano.....sheer technical gold it was.

Nunn fight was over before it began, and Honeyghan mauled it.
