Is that in order? Same questions as to other guys on here, any chance of Qawi, Loughran, Tunney or Greb?
I feel that Moorer's southpaw stance, technique, power and speed make him more of a challenge for the light heavyweights of history than Spinks. that's not to say that Spinks didn't have power, speed or technique, but I think that Moorer was just a bit better in most categories. although I do think Spinks was the more accomplished light heavy, and was better in terms of pure boxing ability.
Glad to see the king in the rightful place. I like the other 4 mentions too, no Foster? I'd also say that H. Johnson is worthy of it, maybe Conn?
It is entirely possible Roy toys with him using the same basic tactics he did to shut out Toney, but resume is resume...
All 5 I picked take out Foster before he gets them. I think Foster would KO Conn. Haven't watched much Johnson.
Yes in that order but I Honestly view Spinks and Charles as both being about even for the top spot. Qawi is just outside my top five but at his best could hang with just about anyone at 175. Loughran and Tunney are further down The list for me and I find it hard to accurately judge Greb because there is no footage of him fighting. I also think of him more as a middleweight.
I like Moorer as well but I don't have him in my top five because he really didn't get to fight any of the top guys at 175. I certainly believe he had the skillset and power to make some noise though.
Agree on all accounts. To me, Loughran and Tunney look a little bit prehistoric. Excellent boxers, and not bad per say, but not better than Moore, Charles, Jones ect.
Vigil Hill is another great fighter at 175. He could really fight. Maske warrants mention as well but both fall outside of the top five for me.
