1 - Wladimir - Power + Precision 2 - David Price - In the Wlad mold 3 - Wilder - Less technique than the above - but he can bang 4 - Haye - P4P biggest Puncher here. but is slightly undersized 5 - Stiverne - only seen clips, but looks like he can punch
Same with Travis Walker. Huge, huge power that's proven against top fighters like Pulev, Arreola, Chagaev and Adamek. Reputedly dropped Vitali in sparring as well. Horrible skill level but whoever he touches with that right is always in major trouble.
wlad haye wilder stiverne price abdusalamov vitali helenius (healthy) mcCline (ya im serious. hes old and slow... but if he land he can still deck almost anyone Larsen (great power but very slow)
No timing or precision, just pure punching power in the straight right: Big guys with big weights... Wladimir Klitschko - 240+ Christian Lewandowski - 240+ Adrian Granat - 260+ Robert Helenius - 250+ Taishan Dong - 280+ Anthony Joshua - 240+ David Price - 240+ Keep looking for more big guys with proper techniques thanks!
I like how the mass portion of m*a is assumed to be the whole boxer, punch effectiveness comes very much down to timing, technique and precision. Even if you ignore timing & precision (ie, how much force is applied to a place where that force is going to do something which may assist someone with their sleeping, the "m" in m*a relies in how well the boxer executes the punch. An example of that is David Tua, there are a lot of guys who were probably stronger and/or faster than him but his left hook was a thing of horrific beauty - when he landed those he was hitting the victim with a lot more than a fist filled glove shot out of a cannon, he may as well have been diving off a platform fist first onto their jaw. Finding the guys with the highest potential for developing force isn't going to get you a list of the most likely to KTFO with a single punch.
Wilder joshua, ortiz too unproven in regards to power. Then there's a ton of levels before the next group. Wlad still has major power on a heavy bag but he's too reluctant to try throwing anything. Definition of gunshy, wlad is... Haye always showed speed, major speed which makes him a hw puncher. Don't know enough about Parker since it's only highlights but.. Truth is, you don't need real power to get ko's, it's the shots people don't see and don't expect that rattle the brain much easier. Every man 200 lbs and above should have enough power, the thing is 99.9999% of people don't have a clue how to use that uncorked power
Disappointed nobody has mentioned Joseph Parker in here. He must rate up in the top 5. The scary thing like most Polynesian men, they develop their frame young but their strength and physique comes a bit later. JP is looking more and more powerful at each outing. My list in no particular order.. Wladimir Povetkin Parker Joshua Ugonoh
Exactly, timing and precision is more important than power. And about Tua's left hook, its always better to hit a tank from the sides than on the front. A chin is less wobbled if you hit it straight on. But from an angle downstairs it becomes better, a powerful straight right from Wladimir would wobble the brain more than an equal one - power wise - from a shorter boxer like Tua. A better angle gets the job done. When I look at Precision and timing I would rank them - in no specific order - something like this: Povetkin. Klitschko. Wilder. Haye. Ortiz. Parker. But of course I would put my money on Taishan Dong on a PSI-machine. But that's another story.
