Name ur top five light hitting heavyweight champs. I got: 1. Chris Byrd 2. Francisco Damiani (Although the WBO) 3. Tony Tubbs 4. John Ruiz 5. Nicholai Valuev Honorable mentions: Jimmy Ellis John Tate Henry Akinwande (WBO) Not considering Michael Spinks because he wasn't a true heavyweight
Ellis did not Harder than tubbs and Ruiz. Punch for punch, ruiz hit harder than guys like ali, patterson and Holyfield(before the post bowe 1 muscle gain). Not sure if marciano would punch as hard as him either, P4P he definitely hit harder though but Ruiz got up to 241 pounds vs toney and was an underrated puncher
Damiani had 30 wins 24 KO's. Definitely not featherfisted... Valuev had good clubbing power when he landed flush, but that was rare.
Ruiz fought a faded Holyfield three times and caught Evander once in 36 rounds. Cmon. By the way, a light hitting middleweight in James Toney knocked out Evander out. Ruiz never knocked out an opponent in a championship fight and quiet honestly have a hard time remembering him ko ing anyone
Damiani wasn't feather fisted? Name one quality fighter he kod outside of Italy? Better yet name one quality fighter he kod ever? He got concrete chin out in 2 in ITALY. I guarantee if I ask Everett
He tells me he took the dip. Other notables were Rick Keller, Larry Roberson, Mike Perkins and Dorey Gayson where is United States victims. Weren't much better in his own country. Eddie Richardson, etc
Lol light hitting and you put Daminani? He was able to KO guys like Everett Martin something Wlad couldnt do years after the fact.
Regarding my post I'm not saying Holyfield wasn't faded but Ruiz fought him in his very next fight after Lewis. Just highlighting that he did something that Lewis couldn't.
If Hughie beats Parker he would definitely qualify for this list, he is the Paulie Malignaggi of the heavyweight division. Roy Jones Jr obviously never possessed HW power and James Toney, even though he knocked out Evander Oldyfield, wasn't even a puncher at lower weights.
