Of course, but they usually have valid reasons instead of, so and so is being overrated because he looked amazing against Lemieux.
That is exactly what happened with Saunders though, he schooled a one dimensional banger and he's knocking on the p4p door.
Since you missed my point the first time, I'll isolate it. No one who knows anything about Saunders is hyping Saunders based on his performance against Lemieux, they're basing it on all of his performances, most of which haven't been seen by most of the people who's only knowledge of him is in the Lemieux match, which is debatably not even his best win. Here's the deal, most BJS fanboys knew the sky was the limit with Saunders, if only he could work on his stamina, he looked absolutely amazing against Lee, until around the 8th round, and looked brilliant against Eubank as well, that is.... until once again the 8th round, all he needed to do is push himself to get in amazing shape and he could sustain his brilliance beyond the 8th, well he's finally done what we've all wanted to see him do for years, and finally looked as brilliant and untouchable from 1-12, as he usually does from 1-8, so you could forgive us if we're a little excited.
Lewis Gassed? We were Boy Scouts together. He was best man at my wedding. I was best man at his. You must be confused.
Judging Saunders by all of his matches, not just the one against Lemieux, is what the people who are downplaying him are doing.
Usyk is good, he moves well for a cruiserweight, but his power seems a bit over rated, as does his defense. He also doesn't look as good to me since he left the American trainer. Fury won a decision by throwing fluky looking slaps, that hardly landed, but got him rounds because Wlad for whatever reason couldn't pull the trigger. Maybe he was threatened, or mind controlling rays interfered with his focus or something, but that effort from Wlad was pathetic that night. Saunders is an exposure waiting to happen. Only British guys can beat a chump, and then get vaulted into the stratosphere of overhype. Lemieux was never that good period. He's like a poor man's Antwon Echols. Overhyped to try and hype Golovkin. Now he's used to overhype Saunders. Not sure how Linares domestic level opposition is considered more than C level. His resume is not even Sturm or Ottke material. He got his arse whooped twice by mediocre opponents. He's fought cans, bums, retirees, and UK Domestic level chumps since then. Likely being overhyped now in anticipation of a Lomachenko fight, so Loma people can claim Loma has a great scalp. Wilder is vastly overhyped, but he's been fighting cans, bums, chefs, etc. for so long that he's actually developing into a fairly dangerous fighter. Skillwise, he leaves a lot to be desired, but that power is real. Paired with his height and reach, that makes him dangerous. He's only fought one legit top 10 guy in almost 40 fights, and that wasn't recent. I'd say Saunders or Linares.
We always knew BJS could become the unbeatable beast that is BJS 2.0 if he actually started taking training seriously. That kind of slickness only comes around once every 1000 years.
Hey now! I don't hate Wilder because I like Joshua (I got loads of other reasons for that) . I support AJ because he's British, I know his faults but so far in 20 fights he's doing good and could soon hold 3 belts.. Not bad at all. And yes I think Usyk is currently overrated but I still think he's a great fighter.... Again like Joshua he's unified champ and could soon hold all the belts at CW (although I'll be rooting for Gassiev as I prefer his style) which would be a tremendous achievement but it doesn't mean a thing when he steps up to HW.
No, actually they're not Nonito, because most of them willingly admit they don't know much about Saunders other than the Lemieux match. And in retrospect, since everyone has tied a saddle to Eubank Jr's crotch, is struggling in the last 4 rounds with him a sign of Saunders being a bum? Who else has won 8 rounds off of Young Christopher? Saunders looked great against Lee, I don't give a damn what anyone says, Lee didn't even try until around the 9th or 10th and even then landed little of significance. He looked like hell against Akavov, even he admits that, he showed up lazy and in terrible form, what other match has he struggled in other than those? He beat Monroe, O'Sullivan, Blackwell, Blandamura, Fletcher handily. Ryder's southpaw stance and inside game gave him some issues, but he still won that one. I said, all the people who have seen so much potential in him, have now seen what heights he can reach when he's fully dedicated and in great shape, as @Serge has pointed out and many others, this is Saunders 2.0, and even lazy ass half hearted Saunders 1.0 was too much for most opponents.
No, you and Dagnaldino will be rooting for Gassiev, because you want the Usyk hypetrain derailed badly, because the mere mention of his name against AJ sends chills down your spines.
LOL not at all. I give both Usyk and Gassiev good shots at being champions at HW. I don't think either would be favoured to beat AJ but I think they definitely would have a good shot ( I rate their chances higher than Parker's or Wilder's) I certainly don't fear either of them moving up though as I'd still back AJ to beat them.
