Margo too slow. Handspeed is too slow. Footwork is too slow. All he got is a punchers chance and thats it. Pac will bust his face ala cotto or hoya!
I have to rewatch the Clotto - Pac to see where the uppercuts became such an issue and counted Cotto actually landing 1 uppercut. He landed lots of crosses though.
Styles makes fights. That is why the Monshipour fight, 80 percent of the punches thrown was uppercut. Margarito was throwing left uppercuts against a fellow orthodox fighter at a distance. Against a southpaw fighetr, the moment he bends down to do that, he is open to the left cross and he has the habit to lower his right guard when he throws. Throwing an uppecut shortens the distance needed for the other fighter countering to connect. So it might make sense to you to throw uppercuts, but from a technical perspective, it is a disadvantage. Unless of course it is a close quarters. But if he does throw uppercuts that distance, Roach knows how to counter it. You might be right, I might be wrong. Let us just see after the fight. I am willing to eat my crow. I tend to analyse what would work and not work against a fighter. Uppercuts is not one of them. For a prime tyson, it would be very good - brilliant distance covering speed, short arm reach, short height , power and most importantly against taller fighters. For Margarito, I don't know. I might be wrong though. Let us just see after the fight.
Lol. Round1gymDC has made countless 'If I'm wrong then feel free to pull this thread up' threads. I think Khan-Judah was another one where he failed to give the winner credit after being proven wrong.
Sure, that's why Tony almost had to put a permanent end to his career in danger of his eye ball falling off its socket!
