#1 reason not to like Pacman, you are Mexican. Honestly, Mexicans' most really not like him beating all their prestigous, best fighters.
1: He is as physically talented as any asian fighter ever. 2: He doesn't buy into his own hype. 3: He cares about his home land a great deal. 4. He respects his opponents. 5. He came up the hard way. Now, there has been a growing group of intelligent thoughtful Pacquiao fans coming into the forum. Lets not scare them off by ruining their threads. If you do, don't complain when all you have left are the bad ones.
man, I've been in this forum for more than a year as a guest. I've enjoyed reading your analysis but when it comes to topics including pac, you seem to lose that analytical side of you. atsch
All I can say to that is he's still with the same wife even after all the millions. Hell, I'm sure Rocky cheated on Adrianne as well....
Here's Mine!! I love Pac because: 1. He's the Pride on my Country. He makes me Proud to be Pinoy! 2, Exciting fights all the time, he gives us what we wants. The Kayos if not Multiple KDs. 3. Fighting the best back to back, Ducks no one!! 4. He doesn't forget where he came from. Still humble and accomodating to the fans. 5. The Greatest Filipino fighter of all time, The Greatest Asian fighter of all time and Soon... One of the Greatest in all Boxing.
Spot-on. The draw was the best fair decision either fighter could have gotten, with the way the close fight went out (KDs and all).
If you'd been around here very long, you'd realize that there's a lot of very annoying posters whgo never shut up about Pac and sometimes make ridiculous claims. This turns some, not just off, but into Pac-haters. That's unfortunate, but Pac is not the only boxer who gives rise to what LanceUppercut terms 'fanboys'. Other fighters who also have herds and hordes of fanatics include Oscar, the Klits, Floyd and more recently, Cotto. So yes, Pac is a current p4p great ( I place him at 3. Some would have him higher, some lower). And despite Amsterdam's remarks to the contrary, he is very exciting to watch. I particularly enjoyed his first bout with Barrera. But be careful not to overdo things.
I'll make my list without seeing what anyone else wrote; 1) will to win (much has been said of this but Pac is the real deal) 2) natural deficit in skill (having started as an incredible puncher its been cool to see him become a very good boxer) 3) speed and power (that is always a plus, makes you want to punch a pillow, a couch, a shower curtain, after watching one of his fights) 4) opposition (legends) 5) a great chin (it seems as if you hurt him all you really do is **** him off) extra point) Humbleness (the guy is just cool)
