Pernell Whitaker obviously. Has to be in anyone's list of the top 5 southpaws of the past 20 years. Probably has to be in anyone's list of the top 5 southpaws of all-time.

Damn, can't really think of others. I'd give Michael Moorer a mention purely for being the first southpaw heavyweight champion, and being a natural light-heavy and former world title holder at 175 aswell.

Erm, maybe Winky Wright? I'd say he'd be in my top 5. Ruled at 154, equally adept at 160 aswell. You have to respect him as being a great southpaw on the basis he doesn't have much to back it up, sure he has a great defence, but he's made his career off that right jab.

I'm struggling with the others, thinking about Michael Nunn, but I'll come back to you.
    I'm come

Pacquiao, Whitaker, Wright, Nunn, Moorer, Slappy Joe

Humberto Gonzalez fought both lefty and orthodox. He can be added to the list.

Of course Pacquiao. Wasn't thinking much into current fighters, only thought of Winky.

I'm tempted to say Jose Luis Ramirez, he was active within the last 20 years but his best days were way behind him.

Gonzalez is a good mention but even though he was switch hitting he was always more of an orthodox fighter.

Other names I can think of to fill my 5th spot on the list are guys like Nunn as I mentioned, Hamed, Jirov, Byrd, Zaragoza, Galaxy.

I can barely even think of any southpaws in the last 20 years.

EDIT: Forgot about Camacho, but I'm going to omit him like Ramirez on the basis that the main body of their work came before '89.

Listing Dawson among the best anything of the last 5 years let alone 20 years is ludicrous.

Best duckers of the last 20 years? (*cough* Diaconu)

Nah, I'm kidding, he'd batter Diaconu.

But I absolutely agree. Even if you haven't seen guys like Camacho & Hagler (even though Hagler can't be included, and Camacho's best work came before the 1989 cut-off date), you can't include Chad Dawson.

You're right, of course Dawson doesn't make this list. What is your opinion of Dawson as a fighter though in general Tommy? He seems to split opinion, some see him as a potential lhw Floyd Mayweather, others see him as more of a lhw William Joppy, what do you think mate?
