Of course he has plenty of awe inspiring performances in his prime but which were his best five? I'd say its holmes, Spinks, Frazier, Berbick and Ferguson
#5. Tyrell Biggs #4. Marvis Frazier #3. Pinklon Thomas #2. Michael Spinks #1. Larry Holmes IMO. Although I did really like the performances Mike put in vs Ferguson, Bruno (2), Tubbs and Berbick.
Top 5: - Ribalta :This fight proved Tyson had stamina enough against a very tough and durable fighter. - Berbick:. The ko was a classic. - Holmes: Only Tyson could destroy Holmes of course this wasn't a prime Larry but the brutal ko is unforgettable. - Ruddock 2: This fight was the battle of the power punches and Tyson won clearly.Ruddock's tougness was amazing and underrated - Bruno 2: Tyson destroyed easily the one of the most muscular reigning World champion.
Glad to see the Ferguson fight getting some mentions. Not sure if it is among his best but I think it might be my favorite.
I loved the Jesse Ferguson fight. It reminds me on Floyd Patterson. Start calmly and wear down the opponent with body punches. So he fought very scientificly and showed some good consistency. Already some very good mentions here...My pick (in no order) - Berbick - Ruddock 2 (Slugfest vs. prime Razor) - Spinks - Ferguson - Holmes + Bonus: Reggie Gross (Just because of his epic dodging of ~20 Punches and crazy left hook knockdown in 1 motion)
This content is protected These are the punches I most remember, first KD is beautiful, early fight most reminiscent of Spinks.
