The problem with that fight is it's about five years too late. Murata isn't even on the level of a prime Lemieux any more. Even a fight with Munguia would be more valid at this point.

I did not agree with the D-Chenko decision, however.

Compounding things further, Canelo moved up and GGG was awarded a belt against D-Chenko, so Canelo really didn't stall GGG's career trajectory unless declining the third fight counts.

If we scrutinized the first decision, then it would quickly become apparent, that your interpretation was wrong.

I agree that once Canelo moved up, it was no longer his problem.

 

Let me give a simple explanation of why I believe that Canelo gets breaks in close fights. No, it isn't corruption (other than that one judge in the Floyd fight).

Canelo lands clean, hard, visible punches. These punches score well. When he moves forward, it gives the judges even more reason to side with him.

He also has great defense, rolling with punches and counterpunching well. Not only does this cause his opponents to not land cleanly, but it makes them wary of sitting on their punches. This often leaves his opponents resorting to "being busy" (most obvious in the Kovalev fight) without fulfilling the scoring criteria as well as Canelo..

In the rare circumstances that he gets caught, he keeps his footing and avoids obviously looking hurt.

I wanted Jacobs, Plant, and probably Lara to beat him, but my cards pretty much always line up with judges in his fights for the reasons stated.

GGG will NEVER get a winning dec in Vegas. Even if he decked Canelo 3 0r4 times he'd still lose by S/D & you know it

 

But Of course GGG got screwed twice ,, why wouldn't he ?? Theres no money in the Sport of Boxing compared to a Canelo victory .. Who wants a 34 year old Katakhstan , non marketable champion .. when you have access to one of the most marketable fighters of all time .... Money is the answer .. and when the Vegas fighter is bought and paid for ,, the Venue rigged , and the 118-110 scorecard turned in .. well its not really hard to figure out , especially when the vast majority of the Boxing world had GGG out pointing him twice
