    Huh...

Gee, ya know I was starting to wonder if I was the only one who ranked Bob Pastor in my TOP 20 ALL TIME.

Aside from Johnson and Jeffries being about 10 spots too low apiece (they are vastly superior to say Sonny Liston, leagues so, for me) and Tyson Fury being about 25 spots too high... everyone has their own list but this is not a terrible list with an emphasis on the more recent and some random big love for Liston, haha.

Ranking Fury above all those you have plus guys like Max Schmeling and Harry Wills or even Ken Norton is just flat wrong. But if someone didn't value older generations' resumes for whatever reasons, I guess I could probably respect that.

I don't see them as superior to Liston. Liston cleaned out the division.

Liston was wrongfully underrated by the general public due to his losses to Ali.
But very few boxing enthusiasts (and almost no casuals) know the circumstances behind those fights: Liston being way older than stated (around 40 years old at the time of the fights), barely training for the first fight and having a shoulder injury going into the fight, taking a dive in the second, etc.

Fury has a better career than all of those guys, and he's undefeated. He's the best HW of his era.

This list is about greatness (meaning who had a better career), not who's the better boxer/who'd win prime vs prime. Cause if I'd have made a list based on their primes and hypothetical H2H results, Tyson is no. 1 in my book.

I agree it’s about relative greatness and I still maintain my point.

So that means you believe Vitaly had a better career than Wladimir ?
Personally I see Vitaly as coming out on top in a fight with his brother, but I don't think he had a better career.
Wlad holds the record for the longest reign as champ and has the most title defenses after Louis.

The quality of opposition Wladimir faced was terrible in my opinion. I know some would consider him an ATG. Honestly I don’t consider him as such and I found him boring as hell. In my opinion amongst other things the heavyweight champion of the world should be a larger than life character.

    Ok, I understand your point.
Personally, I don't care too much about their personality. Wilder tries to be a gangsta type and badass, but he looks ridiculous.
The only thing that needs to be larger than life IMO for a HW is his fighting prowess. A man that wins on points ain't exciting, I like a champ that knocks his opponents out cold, that beats the **** out of them. And when it's all said and done, he's standing victorious over their bloody corpses (they are not dead, but badly hurt). :ggg:ggg:ggg

I agree that their fighting prowess should stand out. I agree with you about Wilder. His boxing ability is truly atrocious. He is like a basketball player who could not make came into boxing found out he had punching power and not much else. When I refer to larger than life character it’s not about playing up necessarily but being their authentic sellves e.g. Duran, Hagler, Azumah Nelson etc Fury and AJ are good examples different authentic personalities but have cross over appeal.
