Gerald McClellan gets nowhere near enough credit for fighting Nigel Benn in London when he could've easily challenged big, slow, hittable Frankie Liles on a big King card in Vegas as per usual, much easier.
Winky Wright came over and put on boxing clinics against Bingham,Foster and Dodson. Gerald McClellan was put in with Benn by DK.He had fallen out with Manny Steward and I always think that was a big mistake and not just talking with hindsight.McClellan certainly fancied the Benn fight,no doubt about that.
Of the fighters today not many top level Americans would. We have the ****test refs in the world. Plus the typical judging bias towards the home fighter (which all countries have) so without top money it's a risk not worth taking.
