Not the craziest of news stories but Majidov and Selimov never turning pro is a huge shame

No U.S. or U.K. promoters saw them as marketable. So no huge paydays for fighting cans and letting them juice up and not test them while their opponents get subjected to 24/7 testing.

Mr Traumatik, Eksman and Todd498 like this.

Something TELs me they will actually go pro. A lot of these guys have lots left in the tank

Reminds me of the last Olympics where ryoto murata 'retired' and as a result was no longer bound to what ever contract he had with aiba and the Japanese amatuer boxing comisiion .

Maybe they are doing the same

Japan has a thriving professional scene, Azerbaijan doesn't

That's true but Russia is coming more into pro boxing and these guys are talented and big hitters. I doubt there is zero pro interest in them

Majidov is past his prime yet peope still paint him as a boogeyman. He's looked old lately and Selimov isn't what he once was either. Abdullayev still had a lot left

Time for Azerbaijan to buy some more fighters from other countries just like they did with Majidov, Selimov and Sotomayor
