Someone said that Juan Diaz was at university/had finished university. (???):bbb

Then, I remembered that Cristian Mijares wants to end his career in 2-3 years to go to study Law. I am sure he sees it as a necessary step towards marrying a rich stateman's daughter with a view to becoming Presidente one day.:freddy

    Anyone else?

Randall 'Tex' Cobb earns degree from Temple University
    - The Associated Press
PHILADELPHIA — Call him the Lone Scholar of the Apocalypse.

Former boxer and actor Randall "Tex" Cobb graduated from Temple University with a bachelor's degree in sport and recreation management. Wearing a cap and gown, he accepted his diploma - magna cum laude - at a ceremony in McGonigle Hall on Friday.

He said it was odd to hear the cheers of a packed arena without being in a boxing ring.

"It was nice to have that opportunity to wear a robe, to step up there and not have to worry about bleeding," Cobb said.

Cobb's professional record of 43-7-1 includes an unsuccessful shot at the heavyweight title against Larry Holmes. His acting career has included numerous TV and movie roles, one of the most memorable being his portrayal of bounty hunter Leonard Smalls - also known as the Lone Biker of the Apocalypse - in the film "Raising Arizona."

Cobb, 54, decided to go back to college a little over three years ago. During his time as a student, he also worked construction jobs in the Philadelphia area.

"This was no honorary degree," said Jeffrey Montague, assistant dean of Temple's School of Tourism and Hospitality Management. "He worked hard for this. He's a tremendous guy, a very, very genuine person. Some of the same qualities that made him a successful boxer made him a great student."

World boxing champion goes back to school

Manila: World boxing champion Manny Pacquiao has decided to study business administration and English in a bid to manage his earnings and to improve his language abilities in school.

"It is good to study business so that I can take care of my business interests," Pacquiao said in a TV interview.

He has established the Manny Pacquiao Promotions Incorporation, which will handle his boxing bouts and oversee all other business interests and ventures.

Pacquiao has made millions endorsing products in the Philippines and is worth millions of dollars.

"I will no longer take up political science," he said, hinting he has given up his dream of becoming a politician.

But Pacquiao has enrolled his two sons at the pre-school section of the Brent International School in suburban Pasig. They will both study law.

    Career

Upon leaving school, Pacquiao became a baker and then a construction worker before he made his name in boxing.

He recently passed a test, given by the education department, which allowed him to graduate from high school.
