What boxers out there who achieved a good amount of success had very little, to no defense at all? Alot of people whom are thought to have no defense are much better than at first sight, even guys like Margarito were somewhat decent at catching punches, although he had very poor defense. JCC is often thought of as a punching bag, but was superb at bobbing and weaving. However I was just watching some Iran Barkley fights, and I don't think I've ever seen a bigger punching bag in my life. Your vote(s)? Of course Foreman of the 70's is a good one too.
Wow, I don't know how I didn't think of that one. Another thing, Canelo Alvarez doesn't have the worst defense I've ever seen, but it is incredibly substandard in correlation to how highly regarded he is. The guy frequently drops his right hand when he jabs, tends to get hit with the same shots repeatedly etc etc. I think he will get into serious trouble first time he goes against a technician whom is in his same weight class.
I'm not sure if Delvin Rodriguez qualifies as a "top boxer" but he's a very highly regarded combination puncher with obvious defensive flaws.
Pacquiao. It improved quite a bit in the later years, but compared to his offensive talents, it was/is quite poor for a top 50 ATG level fighter.
Depends what your definition of a top boxer is. Rios for example. Me personally, I wouldn't consider him top, but many others would.
