Considering he's a top 30 ATG, Pacquiao's defense sucks and doesn't have any particular good defensive quality or skill...

    Roberto Duran
    And Julio Cesar Chavez Sr.
    Marvin Hagler
    Dick Tiger
    Prime Tyson

    Yes, I'm extremely sarcastic.
But I know there are people out there who would put them in the thread.

Yeah having good footwork, being in and out quick etc help him not get hit quite as much, but he is tagged repeatedly for sure, and sets himself up to be hit many times. He lunges forward into punches, is impatient etc. it's why JMM was a nightmare for him.

New addition to this list: Gerald McClellan. No defense at all, he literally had no head movement, no ability to catch punches, nothing. Just ate shots all fight long, and depended on knocking out his opponent. Obviously his fight with Benn is notorious for ending Gerald's career, but in the match itself, he showed absolutely NO DEFENSE. He literally just ate power shot after power shot..

Speaking of Nigel, he was another guy who never ate shots as though he was absolutely starving. His D improved post-G-Man...but for a long time he seemed insulted if you missed him with a punch.

Agreed, but Nigel actually had pretty damn decent defense in his match with Gerald, he was bobbing and weaving out of most of the big shots. Rounds 2 to 7 he showed some real good head movement.

I don't have him in my Top 50. Maybe Top 100. But I agree with your idea. His defense is so damn ****-poor.
