Top fight towns all across the world...

    what are some of the top fight towns etc. in all of the world? I know some fighters were not born in these towns, but they trained and fought there, thus being produced as a fighter from the specific area. In other cases, although the fighter didn't train there, their drive as a fighter came as a result of the experiences they had in that particular area.

    Philadelphia, PA- frazier, hopkins, briscoe, saad muhammad, harold johnson, georgie benton, willie munroe, jimmy young, tyrone everrett, boogaloo watts, meldrick taylor, and many more.

    New York City, NY- Mike Tyson, Riddick Bowe, Sugar Ray Robinson, Jake Lamotta, Juan Laporte, Zab Judah, emile griffith, jose torres, carmen basilio, more.

    Detroit, Michigan- Joe Louis, Hilmer Kenty, Thomas Hearns, Hilton Mcrory, Duane Thomas, Gerald Mclellan, more.

    what fight towns spring to your mind? internationally as well.

    Tons of terrific fighters from the Bronx. Brockton has Marciano and Hagler.

    ^^robbie simms, marvin's half brother and very good fighter in his own right, also came from brockton.

    Pittsburgh was the place back in the day.

    New Yorks probably the best pick especially the 50s where you had the likes of Pep, Robinson, Griffith, LaMotta etc...

    In Britain here at the moment Manchester and as much as i hate to say it Liverpool have good fight scenes.

    Hollywood in afew years will have a great fight scene as you have Manyy Pacquiao and the Wildcard guys

    Bristol wa the mecca of boxing for most of the 19th century.

    Tom Cribb and Tom Sayers used to train at my former local pub (the old Hatchet).

    The East London area spawned Lennox Lewis, Nigel Benn, Michael Watson, Terry Marsh, Jack 'Kid' Berg and Ted 'Kid' Lewis among others.

    Montreal has a very lively and vibrant boxing scene, always has for as far as I can remember.

    And via Tunisia, Charlie Magri was a good ol' East end boy.;)

    Ingle's Sheffield stable deserves a modern mention (Bomber Graham, Johnny Nelson and Naseem)

    As does Lawless' stable which adds to the East end fighters (Stracey, Hope, McDonnell, Bruno, Watson, Kaylor, Mason etc)

    And if we are talking venues apart from the classic American MSG, Olympic Auditorium and Blue Horizon, what about York Hall, London or Luna Park, Argentina?
