Top Fighters Knocked out in Sparring?

Apparently Brandon Rios got his arse handed to him by Lucas Matthysse a couple of years back in sparring.

And neither are "top fighters" but Richard Towers was knocked out in sparring by John McDermott.

 

Hatton knocked from pillar to post by Lara.

McCellen being hurt only once , but really hurt and claimed it was a head butt, dont remember then name but it wasnt a superstar at the Kronk, just one of the very good fighters.

Floyd being battered by Spadofora, albeit Floyd wasnt in training and it was two weeks before a title fight for Spad.

Funnily enough Thompson then basically turned around and said the opposite happened .....................



"I couldn't have been more impressed with David in sparring, and he was twice the fighter I first thought he was," said Thompson. "I just think this is going to be an easy win for him on November 13.

"I told David at the beginning that if he can hit me with right hands and beat the hell out of me in practice, he will destroy Audley Harrison. If David can do what he did to me, Audley's got no shot in this fight at all.

"Audley is nowhere near on this level. He's leagues below where I'm operating and that's just common boxing knowledge. Anybody that has ever watched a fight on television knows that. Audley might be an Olympic gold medallist, but he's nowhere near me as a pro. I've achieved, beaten good guys and mixed with the best, whereas Audley has achieved next to nothing so far."



In the same interview Harrison also claimed " I'm gonna close David Haye down and David Haye is gonna be in the fight of his life........ every second of every minute of every round I'm gonna be in his face" atsch
