That's not the point right now. Right now, I'm trying to determine if McClellan is worthy to be ranked one of the hardest p4p puncher despite knocking out a lot of bums and less quality oppositions. Yes he is a better puncher than Sosa, so what?? What are you trying to say?

One more thing, since when I thought that Sosa is a murderous puncher? I only think that he is solid one and that's it.

Too little footage of Fitzsimmons exists to be able to take him seriously

This argument doesn't make any sense.

You being unable to see Fitzsimmons KOs doesn't make him any less impressive. We have his career well documentated and you can't judge power based on eye-test either.

Those documentations can't reveal how good his opponents's chins were.

    I beg to differ

Are you aware that chins didn't get better with time right?
Then tell me how you measure power by looking at the film. Tell me how you can say that Tyson hit harder than Lewis for example.

Well, they kinda did. It's one thing to be a part time boxer, and it's another when that is all you do and train 24/7 for that. Plus, better nutrition also helps. Some of the guys Fitzsimmons KO'd would pretty much get KOd by any decent boxer nowadays.

You can't measure it perfectly, but you get a pretty good idea on who is a hard puncher and who isn't.

Including HW's seems a bit odd. If any HW is proper, I guess Shavers. He fought at what, 210, and nearly everyone who fought him, win or lose, says he was the hardest hitter they had faced.

Anyway, my contribution (mentioned already) is Hearns at ww. To be 6'1" at ww and have his power level was just insane. Guys that skinny shouldn't be able to hit like that.

We're talking about the man who was the professional boxer for 30 years. It's not my fault that you can't understand that Fitzsimmons wasn't a part time boxer.

The part about Fitz getting stopped by any decent boxer is just silly.
Yeah and you can do that by examining the record and reading contemporary reports. Fitzsimmons was a monstrous puncher and we even have footage to back it up.

Are you dumb? That's a video title YOU IDIOT. What am I suppose to say? "Normal Puncher" ?

Do you actually think that I meant he's a monstrous puncher? Unbelievable, just unbelievable.

I was talking about some of his opponents being part time boxers, and being stopped, not about him.
But if you brought it up, I even think he'd get beaten to a pulp by any decent amateur nowadays.

Records and contemporary reports cannot show us how good his opposition was or how good their chins were.
And we have very bad/poor quality and limited footage, which makes him look like a bad joke compared to modern boxers.

Like who exactly? Do you realize that we don't even have complete record of Fitzsimmons, let alone his lesser known opponents? You know nothing about his opponents and you don't know if they were part time boxers. Boxing existed for decades before Fitzsimmons started his career.
Yeah and it's just not justifiable. You assume that someone can beat extremely experienced and talented fighter like Fitzsimmons simply because he used different style. Boxing doesn't work like that. Most of these decent amateurs would look better than Fitzsimmons until they met him in the ring and got punched in their face. I can assure you that most of them wouldn't be able to stand on their feet after that.
They can, just like they can do that now. Let's be honest, you don't watch most fights in boxing and you base most of your opinions from records - not from watching fights.
It also shows him stopping HW champion of the world with a single body punch. Not bad for a "bad joke".

Just stop it. You try to use your arbitrary opinions like they are objective facts, even though you admitted many times that you don't know much about Fitzsimmons era.

It's "just unbelievable" that someone took something you said seriously?
