There are a lot of potentially very good heavyweights, but unproven (as pros). Filip Hrgovic, Efe Ajagba, Arslanbek Makhmudov, Zhan Kossobutskiy, Apti Davtaev, Vladyslav Sirenko, Mahammadrasul Majidov, Oleksandr Zakhozhyi, and Viktor Vykhryst are examples. Most of those listed above need better management.
Do you think either of them could be victorious? I think both fights favor the champs tbh, if Fury wasn't so much bigger than Usyk it would be a different story. I'd like to see Aj/Ruiz 3 Ruiz looks to be in better shape than he was in the first fight. But I think again Fury vs Ruiz would go the way of the much bigger Fury.
I don't think either would win. Unless the odds were too good to pass on for DW v AJ. He'll always have that punchers chance, but those are rare. Feels like the only HW with a shot at defeating Fury is AJ at the moment.
A 42 year old Holmes beat Ray Mercer in 92. George Foreman at 45 years old beat a 26 year old Moorer to become WC 94.
I agree, I think AJ definitely has a good shot at beating Fury, but I also feel that AJ is the more likely to lose, potentially, to some of the others.
It has to be Usyk, since he has the talent and ring experience to be a threat to Fury or Joshua, but he’s already 34 and I don’t see his style aging well in another 2-3 years, so hopefully if he he doesn’t get a title fight this year he gets one next year assuming we don’t have anymore shutdowns.
I have ,and I assume others here also have zero interest in a Fury Wilder match would like to see something new. Assuming Fury wins, and I do, I'd like to see Joyce ,Usyk and Ruiz in line for fights this year. Hopefully the Joyce Usyk fight comes off to narrow the field. Povetkin and Whyte are shot dinosaurs that I've seen enough of.
