Wladimir Klitschko imo. He has the best resume, longevity and dominance.

I thought the "Noughties" or the "Noughts" were the common names for this past decade. Been hearing & reading those terms for years.

To answer the original question, here's my very off-the-cuff list. I'm sure I'll have missed someone...

1. Vitali
2. Wlad
3. Lennox
(big gap)
4. Toney
5. Ruiz
6. Byrd
7. Valuev
8. Peter
9. Rahman
10. Chagaev

Lennox is only 3rd because most of his work was done the previous decade. I can certainly see any argument for shifting any of the top 3 or the bottom 7.

 

Lennox is by far the best in the last 10years, its just hes been gone for 7 of them so if your looking at the legacy of those 10years he may not come out on top. But then again wins over Vitali, Tyson, Tua, Grant, Rahman beats anything either Klitschko has done in the 00s resume wise

As for head to head a past it Lewis beat Vitali and Lennox would easily walk through Wlads paper chin.

 

Yea I agree with this top 5.

Valuev after that, then perhaps Chagaev and Holyfield? Its a toughie, there has been a lot of 'good' heavyweights but only a handful of world class/elite fighters.

 

I'd like to hear your arguments for taking Vitali over Wlad and Toney at number 4.

 

Vitali beat Sanders who beat Wlad and dealt with PEter with less trouble. I'm not sure I have Vitali over Wlad all the same

 

And that outweighs Wlad's much superior resume and him unifying two belts?

If you go h2h maybe. But then Lewis would be numero uno and not Vitali.

I dont like the Klits and Im a big Lewis fan but Vitali Klit is probably most dominant in that decade, hes unbeatable currently and would give anyone in history major problems, his brother racks up some wins but how many times was he KOd during that time? Was it 3 or 4? Hes not in the same league.
