Sergey Kuzmin. Could go far and was starting to grind down Mansour before the cut on Mansour's eye occurred. Hits from various angles and is excellent counter puncher. Power and chin is among his best attributes, never mind his amateur career and positioning. His ability to cut the rings helps to beat his opponents easier than expected. Can't see how Mansour beats him in rematch if it happens. Looks like masour is still healing his cut but Kuzmin is ready to go because his cut is fully healed. Think, Kuzmin will fight in March or April. According to his manager Kornilov he will return in March, April or May but not later than May. Kownacky. Certainly is among the list. Bit open to shots but has power, chin, size and technique to trouble top 5 heavyweights. He will be stopped at some point in his career but it will be fun while it lasts. I hear he will fight Breazele next, not a bad stay busy fight. I think he will knock Breazele out faster than others. Zhilei Zhang. Although, he was in parts of the fight out boxed against journeyman, I still scored it as a draw, think it was against Curtis Harper. He has some lengthy amateur career, punch and fast hands, so he can become a top 10 heavyweight. Oscar Rivas. Rivas is amongst the the better prospects of the divison. Rivas always keeps himself in shape can be outboxed but has fast movement and power to his arsenal. He is supposed to fight against Duhuapas in March, providing Duhuapas doesn't get better fight instead. Duhuapas/Rivas fight is set for Marseilles in France in either March or April. Evgeny Romanov. Fast and explosive puncher with 400 amateur fights to his name. Have that ko fo Wilder to his name. Joe Joyce. I always liked his style. Had issues with his defense in the amateurs but managed to change his style. Has chin, power and work rate to compete with the top 5 heavies in the future. Filip Hrgovic. Although looks amateurish in his pro fights, I still rate him. Hope he works on his defense or it's lights out against someone with big power. Ali Eren Demerizen. Great in cutting of the ring. Has power and hand speed to trouble top 20 heavyweights. So far hasn't shown any weakness. This guy rushed Yoka in amateur, not many could do that. Also had 3 fights with Joyce, won 1 and lost two of them but I thought he won all three.
This year Hrgovic definitely. Next year Usyk will be making the most noise moving up. Hopefully Teslenko gets some bigger fights by then also.
Hrgovic definitely. Also, Kownacki and Kuzmin arr no longer prospects, they've graduated to semi promising fringe contenders.
Dibella will make him a step up fight late this year, I think. But in meantime Oleksandr Teslenko will face Keenan Hickman on February 7. Teslenko is now signed to Lou DiBella.
Prospect heavyweight contender Alexander Teslenko (11-0, 9 KOs) has signed a contract with Lou Dibella and will now enter the ring on February 7. The amateur record of Alexander Teslenko (224-23) he has the goal to become the world heavyweight champion. "My goal is to become a world heavyweight champion, and I know that working with Lou Dibella, my goal is becoming possible. I am very glad that I will go to the ring in New York on February 7 and show what I can do. Viewers will be able to see a new threat to the throne of the heavyweight division. " - said Alexander Teslenko. "Sasha is one of the most talented heavyweights I've met. He had an impressive amateur career, and he has the skills to fight for the world title. We will be happy to work with Sasha and his team, as he seeks to become one of the best heavyweights in the world. " "said Lou Dibella.
Based on the kinda names they want to get for Joe Joyce (Chisora etc) I'd say Joyce will have the best 2018 if they can get them kinda fights. With Joyce likely to go on Haye Bellew card I'm sure they'll get him a good name to raise his profile However I don't think he's the best prospect out of that list. I personally think Hrgovic is the best prospect if we're talking more than 2018.
Don't be fooled by Haye. He always promises but not always delivers. Joyce will fight Rudolf Jozic next, this is cheap matchmaking in it's finest. I don't expect Chisora fight because for one Haye can't afford Chisora and second he will face jorneyman type's in next 5 fights. P.S. I remember Haye promising on twitter to put whole sparring footage with Wilder and others out, he never did that. Pulled out of 2 fights with Fury with injury and never tried to make 3. Haye talks for attention, I don't think he is a guy who delivers what he promises.
I know his next fight is not the best, but there's no excuse for a poor opponent on a huge PPV bill like Haye Bellew. And he is already old and has enough experience to fight British level opponents as he proved v Lewison I think the fact that he's quite old already means they have to rush into getting him ranked and get him a title shot in next couple years. He can't afford to have a couple years fighting journeymen imo; both for any hype that he has and his physical condition
Yeah, he can't afford to face journeymen but knowing Haye he will put all the money in his pockets and will put Joyce with journeyman type's in next 5 fights. As for Joyce's fight for Haye/Bellew rematch, expect promised Tom Little or other journeyman.
If Haye doesn't get Joyce on his Bellew card and an opponent who would be a real solid win for him, someone who would immediately introduce Joyce as a contender, Joyce should try to get out of his contract ASAP. Because if Haye can't get something for him on his Bellew fight card, he's never going to get any big fights for Joyce. And Joyce has no time to spare.
