Some of the usual better ones and big name fighters who got a lot of coverage back then, in no particular order: Lyle, Shavers, Young, Quarry, Cooney, Bugner, Biggs, Bobick, Snipes. You could consider Ruddock, Gary Mason at the very end of the 80's-into the 90's .
In no particular order. Jimmy Young Ron Lyle Joe Bugner Teofilo Stevenson Bernardo Mercado Earnie Shavers James Tillis Carl Williams Gerry Cooney Renaldo Snipes
No need for such infantile language. You’re not a child. Stevenson was undoubtedly the best amateur heavyweight of the 70/80s and I just think it would have been fascinating to see how he would have developed as a pro had he been allowed to. I think he had the talent to have done.well.
[ Teofilo was not proved against pro boxers and he was not fighting long distance, it is pretty easy look great in 4 rounders. Forget it. It Is an insult to any pro fighter rating an amateur between top pro fighters. He was a great amateur but you can't put him between good pros only because you imagine anything
The whole concept of this forum is that posters use their imagination to make imaginary matchups between high profile and top fighters of the past. Also it isnt as straightforward as you think it is to say anyone can look good in 4 rounders, especially when you think all all the pro champions that were never able to win one Olympic gold let alone multiple numbers.
Every fantasy match made here is BEtween 2 pro fighters . Teofilo is 0-0 at pro. Henrry tillman did beat Tyson at an amateur but all we watched what happened in the pro fight. Amateur fights says nothing
Yes and many a Olympic heavyweight champion have gone on to become successful pro fighters and champions and while there’s no guarantee that Stevenson would have done the same had he been allowed to turn pro, I wouldn’t discard the possibility quite so readily as you.
Stevenson would at the very very least have turned into a good pro boxer. He had lots going for him. To be frank it's a great left field mention.
Foreman at the end of this video said that he believed that teofilo could be hw champion of the World. But Foreman talked a lot of nonsenses so... This content is protected
