My definition is a guy who takes away your ability to find breathing room. If you're looking for breathing room and there is none then you are in with a pressure fighter. Guys like Frazier, Marciano, Chavez, Duran, Beterbiev, Margarito, etc. fit the bill. The first Barrera Morales fight is a good example of a pressure style. Morales was looking for breathing room and there was none. There was nowhere to go.
Oh how I wish we could have seen Orlando Salido vs Takashi Miura. A savage war that we missed out on.
Was about to bring him up as well. That man would not let you breathe for a second. You rarely see a pillow fist with that type of style.
I know what you mean mate, I was just thinking outside the box Khabib was like this in mma. His chain wrestling and relentless pressure was infamous
lets hope he comes to press crawford and you see what happens. If hes smart he will play it safe. The more risk he takes the wider the beatdown for crawford.
The bests actually : Beterbiev Giovanni Santillan Panya Pradabsri (is not bad for that) Nick Ball Emanuel Navarrete Dayan Gonzalez Fernando Daniel Martinez Masamichi Yabuki Pedro Taduran Top of the century : Pongsaklek Wonjongkam Pornsawan Porpramook Povetkin Beterbiev Lucas Matthysse Mahyar Monshipour Yoddamrong Sithyodthong Somsak Sithchatchawal Golovkin Luis Nery etc...
Margarito Paul Williams Hatton All brought the pressure fairly relentlessly. GGG a bit more educated but you will still under fire for a lot of time.
And not a single one of his opponents had an easy time with him, not even the victorious ones. Dude was a menace.
Agreed. As great as Barrera was, I think peak Chocolatito was more fluid with his combinations/footwork closing the distance, and incorporated more crafty defensive maneuvers on the inside than Barrera. Of course, Barrera changed up and was superior as a mid-range boxer-puncher than Chocolatito.
Calzaghe usyk Lomachenko Chavez sr And Pacquiao all fight the same style. Can anyone else think of any other pressure volume punchers
