Jose Uzcategui seemed like an easy choice but is 1-2 since 2018. If not him, who? Everybody hates Callum Smith - wildly inconsistent and was overpowered by Ryder - but in all a really good collection of stoppages (Groves, N'Dam, Mohoumadi, Fielding, Mendy). David Benavidez has the best ratio but doesn't exactly have that murderous one-punch stuff, instead puts together scary combos. Could be wrong. Maybe a stretch: Zach Parker and Roamer Angulo have pop. Ali Akhmedov and Kaway Toutin are young and nasty.
Probably Smith. Groves rarely gives compliments regarding power, usually considering himself the puncher, but spoke about Smith having heavy hands and being an excellent finisher. Also said he'd never been hurt to the body like that. I think Groves has good credibility here since he's been in with pretty big punchers either fighting or sparring (Froch, Kessler(s), Golovkin(s)) and those with good power (Degale, Eubank, Chudinov, Jack) ...
Probably David Benavidez right now. He runs over guys. Not a lot of tact to it. Bek Bully is the most promising fighter who promises destruction.
Once Canelo knocked out the World Champion at 168. I could not remember that guy's name. Canelo is a marvellous boxer who can fight at 3 different weight classes at the same time 160, 168, and 175. Amazing!
Absolutely. And Alexander who extended him the distance is well experienced and very crafty - he hasn't been knocked out yet.
I think Benavidez. Smith is a more consistent puncher in that most of his punches have some thump to them, but when Benavidez launches full-force, sits down on the shot, gets his weight into it, explodes from the pivot, and gets full-extension......... Nobody at 168 can lay the torque down like that, not even close imo.
Benavidez's last fight he beat up someone that had been in with big punchers, is known for being fairly durable and stopped him. I'm going with Benavidez. And he's not even quite prime yet.
I feel this way about Jermell Charlo. He's been sitting on his overhands and dudes don't hear the final bell or at least hit the deck.
