s saying that Top Rank and Gamboa have reached an agreement and that Gamboa will be able to go his own way. Top Rank will have an announcement on it tomorrow.

Good to see him get this behind him and get back in the ring again. Top Rank getting Vargas but losing Gamboa isn't exactly a great deal for them though.

Mayweather isn't even a real promotional company. Hope he knows what he is doing.

What about the WORST promoter in the World? Oner? He still in the picture? I can't see him getting out from under him at any price.

But is Arena still in the picture? Again, Mayweather "Promotions" isn't even licensed.

The *********** article says that sources tell them it didn't come cheap. Gotta figure that Top Rank collected the $70K they were suing for plus whatever they deemed as their estimated percentage of the fights remaining on his contract.

And I'd be surprised if Gamboa had that kind of cash available. So, gotta figure someone fronted him the money.
And, as has been widely reported, Mayweather promotions isn't even licensed.

I think we are going to see Golden Boy involved here somehow. Either by signing Gamboa directly or by co-promoting his shows as they do with Mayweather promotions.
I also believe that Oscar's big announcement a few months ago was going to be that he had signed Gamboa, but, once his lawyers took a look at the contract he came up with that lame sobriety announcement.

And finally, I don't see any indication that he is out from under Arena. So, I'm guessing in the long run that he really didn't make himself any money here. Between what he will still be paying Arena, plus the amount he is paying Top Rank, and the fact that he can't draw flies to his fights, he probably just put himself under a bigger financial burden.

Damned, one loss and it will be like paying off college loans. A lifetime burden. I really feel bad cuz these Cubans come out with no experience in capitalism and get screwed royal. Hope it works out in the long run for him.

If Jr. beats Martinez they may offer him a shot at the MW title.

It probably allows Arum to still have some stake in him over the next few years. . . Where they just collect a certain % of his purses. . Not as much as it would be if they were still promoting him. .

All around a good deal for both parties, especially Arum, because he can sit back and collect without having to front money to promote him. .

Although people have to realize Arum probably actually has a "loss" in Gamboa at this point from all the money they've invested in building him up, and haven't got him to the "profitable" stage yet - which he is just now entering.
