http://www.espn.com/espn/now?nowId=1-25566061 This is an interesting move for the LHW division. A good potential opportunity for Gvozdyk to fight vs. another top opponent (even if Alvarez loses to Kovalev).
Gvozdyk have opportunity to unify all the titles and this co promotional deal falls in that beutifully.
Yes. If Alvarez beats Kovalev, this could be a megafight. I guess TR would try to make a PPV out of it somehow...
You gotta' admire Uncle Bob. He just keeps pickin' em' up and puttin' em' down. It would be fun if Alvarez would fight Bivol before he goes to cruiser, but would like the Gvosdyk fight alot as well. Good times for LHW+ these days.
Kovalev seems in a good place right now mentally, he has a good shot at taking the belt back. I'm not writing him off.
I just hope that it won't be like that one half of the LHW boxers will stick to ESPN, and another half to DAZN, without fighting each other...
No way. It's not even close to a mega fight. Both Akvarez and Gvozdyk just scored big wins, but they are still relative unknowns. Neither guy cracked 1mil in viewers in their last fights.
First Beterbiev with DAZN/Matchroom and GYM and now Alvarez with Top Rank/GYM. Can someone tell me what purpose GYM serves then as a promoter? Are they going to let the major promoter do all the hard work and be happy to cash in on a % basis? Hopefully these contracts can be bought out and these fighters can be promoted properly instead of being tied to these sharks like GYM.
Beterbiev should just the Chechen mafia after Yvon Michel and dangle him out of a window until the contract is terminated. Problem solved.
