I don't know if any one has noticed but with Fernando Montiel fighting Hozumi Hasegawa (old Bobotron not getting his way, thank **** :happy) the WBO belt at 118 has become vacant, correctly might I state.

Therefore the fight that SHOULD be happening is between the two top contenders, one obviously being Eric Morel and the other being Jason Booth. Unfortunately that isn't the case Top Rank are going to put together Eric Morel with Jorge Arce for the vacant title. This is a disgrace Top Rank always get away with their safe in house fighting and it is screwing over decent professionals like Jason Booth. The sanctioning bodies need to grow a pair and demand that the top 2 or at worst 3/4 ranked contenders fight for the title not just pick anyone in the rankings for your convenience.

I think it is a disgrace that not only is Jason not getting his shot at the title but also Jorge Arce is getting another shot at a big fight and another title without doing sweet FA to deserve yet another big fight. The guy got destroyed by Mijares and then Vic and then 2 fight later gets comfortably beaten by a 15 fight untested novice for a vacant title and then disgustingly gets yet another shot at another vacant title against a nobody and now for no reason what so ever he is moving up to 118 to first of all take a tune up against Ciso Morales :pukke and then to take on Morel on the Juanma-Concepcion undercard.

All in all an absolute disgrace, it's this sort of **** that damages Boxing. Bob Arum **** off :fire

considering Booth has had 4 fights in a row at Super Bantamweight and not been at bantam for a 15 months, i dont really think its a disgrace

I agree in fact I think FTM should move him back down to 118, especially if Frank is serious about getting him into world title contention.

But the fact is that Bob Arum has on numerous occasions changed the rankings to suit his purpose and his safe in house match making are the exact reasons we recently got "The event" undercard. Whats the point in having rankings if vacant titles are contested by fighters chosen at random by promoters and fighters defend their titles against unranked contenders. I don't agree with many of the sanctioning body rankings but surely a vacant title should be contested by the #1 and #2 contender and if one of them is unavailable then they can pick the next available contender. And my point is just how many fighters are being screwed by Bob Arum only picking remotely dangerous opponents if they are in his stable of fighters and this screw fighters over that aren't with him and on some occasions aren't making much money and are waiting for the big shot like Jason Booth.

And it pisses me off the way that Bob Arum fighters make a mockery of weight divisions and titles (picking them up and vacating as they please) moving out of their weight class without doing anything of note at their original weight and then proudly proclaim they are 2/3 time champion. Here are three perfect examples of how modern Bob Arum fighters career progresion "works"

Humberto Soto. Picked up a vacant title at 130 took 3 defenses against **** opposition and moved up to face David Diaz for a vacant title. Diaz was ranked #7, he was handpicked because Soto doesn't want to face Peterson who he knows would bust his ass and Bob Arum didn't want to risk his fighters against an "outside" fighter so in went Diaz. Now Soto is defending his title against Ricardo Dominguez on Top Rank Live on FSN rather then face his mandatory Anthony Peterson on HBO at Yankee Stadium. Is now a three weight champion supposedly yet hasn't beaten a legit top 5 fighter since beating Rocky Juarez back in 2005.

Nonito Donaire. Moved up to 115 picked up a bs interim title and has had two fights against **** opposition. There has been talk of a fight between Nonito-Vic II but this sounds iffy and I think it won't happen. He is now moving up to 118 where I am sure he will face either Morel (once he beats Jorge Arce) or Montiel (if he beats Hasagawa) and if he wins he will proclaim to be a three weight champion.

Edwin Valero. Has a **** reign at 130 vacated when he signs up for Top Rank picks up a vacant title at 135 and then defends the title twice firstly against a gate keeper at 130 and then against a good contender in DeMarco then vacates to move up in weight and to pursue a fight with Manny. Achieved absolutely f all in his career except managing to pick up 2 vacant titles and soon will fight Lamont Peterson if he gets out of rehab anytime soon and will then either fight Pac Man or fight for a vacant title (a guess I must admit) and then you go it he becomes a three weight world champion.

Are you seeing a picture yet.

you could say the same about any top promoter and aphabet belt. take no notice of them. Jason Booth is not a top 10 fighter in anyones book so to rank him at 2 in a division hes not even in is just as stupid as allowing a bad fighter to go for a vacant title
