Tall switch-hitter in black is the Brazilian kid. Orthodox in red is the Italian...probably the "supposed to win" A-side here since he's younger and undefeated.

What the hell is up with that? Almost sounds like one of them is micced up. Damn, think this is the first time I've heard a fighter breathing so loudly

Abreu is most effective when fighting southpaw, and he's probably done better work overall in the first half of this, although I'm not watching closely enough to produce a scorecard.

edit: literally the second after I post that Sarchioto knocked him down with a minute left in R3.

edit2: moments later another KD, waved off.

Think he initially buzzed him with a stray right cross between his wrists, then just chopped Abreu down with looping rights & left hooks. Nothing too artful, just bad defense.

Quite a vulgar little display of power after losing the first 2½ rounds.

Sarchioto was being outboxed there before finding those big shots.

I thought he did enough to win the first one, going by how bad he buzzed Abreu at the end of it, plus some earlier shots he was landing. Turned out to be a preview of Sarchioto's power.

The frosted-tipped Monégasque fighter (I believe the first and only boxer to rep Monte Carlo in the Olympics?) just slowly breaking down the Macedonian-Iranian-Austrian. Neither strikes me as being particularly skilled based on these couple of rounds in the books. One's just bigger and hits harder.

HA! They're reading my RBR at ESPN's commentary desk. Bernardo Osuna just made mention of Odabai being an Austrian of Macedonian & Iranian descent. 90 seconds later? Zero chance that's coincidence.

"We know that some fighters like to use that as a stalling tactic."

Hey, funny you should mention that considering the co-main probably has his belt cause of that
