World class performance from Inoue there. That Aussie getting in the ring calling him out at the end is out of his depth.

Shinsuke Yamanaka must be nodding in approval of this moment. And the Japanese people are showing appreciation towards Nery while he was walking back to the dressing room. Looks like all is forgiven now.

I wonder what's next for Nery?

I suppose for anyone still questioning whether Inoue could overcome adversity in a fight (although this shouldn't have still been a question given how he fought on and won with a broken orbital bone against Donaire) then you have your emphatic answer. I don't think the knockdown exposed any flaws, other than perhaps some overconfidence in that first round.
He more or less dominated every second of the fight after getting up, in his ,4th weight class against a hard hitting fighter who probably weighed around 145 lb on the night (I think nery said he rehydrates to around this, which is crazy for a 122lber)

Good win by Inoue. He does need to be a bit more defensively responsible though. Hopefully he learned something from that knockdown

Hope you had an enjoyable bank holiday Monday you weirdo. Now go and fantasise over Curmel Moton.

I was in that gym last month, you should have said, I could have got you a signed T shirt for you to sleep in.

    Caught the replay.

Inoue a bit reckless in round one. Got hurt but recovered well. Never have liked how his chin hangs in the air like that.

    Fantastic finish.

Can you outline all Inoue's flaws that were exposed in round 1?

Seriously, YDKSAB. If he fought and ducked like Pretty Boy Fraud, he would never take the risks of fighting Donaire or Nery type fighters. But Inoue does step up and he does actually fight in an entertaining way by trusting his skill will win through in the end.

Anyone complaining about Inoue's performance has no idea about the sweet science.

Nery came in over a pound under the 122 limit at 120.8lbs and apparently he weighed at least 139lbs against Hovhannisyan. I actually thought Inoue looked a bit bigger than Nery but I was sceptical because I suspected Nery was the type to rehydrate a lot of weight.

Inoue weighed 135lbs vs Tapales and Tapales was 139

Weights can be deceptive. Some fighters are heavier than they look, some lighter. Inoue and Nery looked at worst the same size and, as said, I even think Inoue looked a bit bigger but I really don't think that was the case and I'm sure Nery had to be at least 4lbs heavier if not more and if it was more you couldn't see any noticeable size difference between them.
