The fight between Manny Pacquiao and Shane Mosley on May 7 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas was nearly sold out three hours after tickets went on sale today, according to Top Rank.

An estimated 16,000 were sold between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. PT, leaving barely 1,000 tickets available for the welterweight matchup.

“Incredible, simply incredible,” Bob Arum said. “I have never promoted a fight that has sold so many tickets so quickly. Manny Pacquiao never ceases to amaze the world with his achievements. The excitement he generated today with the initial ticket sales makes it feel like fight week already.”

The remaining tickets, priced at $1,000, $750, and $300, can be purchased through Ticketmaster. To charge by phone, call Ticketmaster at (800) 745-3000. Tickets are also available at www.mgmgrand.com or www.ticketmaster.com. Ticket sales at $1,000, $750, and $300 are limited to 10 per person.

The fight will be televised on Showtime Pay Per View beginning at 6 p.m. PT / 9 p.m. ET.

What can you say now *****s?!?!

Who gives a **** this fight holds no significance in the boxing world honestly if Manny loses he's not who you *******s thought he was and if he wins he's beaten another fighter Floyd already picked apart....

He should be fighting a young, hungry, undefeated champion with brutal KO power for the WBC championship I'm sure that would have sold out to he has nothing to gain by even fighting Shane at this point.

pac isn't floyd and floyd isn't pac, and if using floyd as a measuring stick when attempting to defend pac is your only defense, it's rather poor considering floyd gets **** from about 95% of ESB posters and media

It's because of his attitude OUTSIDE the ring that's being hated. If he aint a dick, he won't be treated like a dick.

NASCAR sells more tickets faster and is about as relevant to boxing.

just like when arum said by fight night in texas they will have sold 70,000...real number...around 40,000. i'd say 1,000 of those 16,000 are comp tix from top rank. point is they always inflate the numbers, you know anything about ticket sales its this: There is no such thing as a sold out event. doesnt exist.
